The rule (in my own words - so may not be wholly accurate) - is that the takeover price must be no less that the price paid in the last 12 months to buy shares by the company/person who is putting in a bid. i.e the actual share price price of the last 12 months has no bearing , only the share price paid by the entity putting in a takeover bid. Happy to be corrected if the above is not correct.

I understand that in the case of takeover of an AIM company, the price paid has to be at a minimum, the highest price of the share in the preceding twelve months. Could it be possible that the sudden rise in price was a way of guaranteeing a minimum takeover price for RDT, or maybe a starting point for discussions? Just a wild thought.

Or Microsoft buying a stake, hence the surge? Would have thought placing whispers would have share price going vertically south.

43% rise in two sessions - what the heck is going on here? Has the bidder raised their hand, is their insider dealing going on? It can't just be a puff of wind, surely?

It was me that posted it - sorry I did say it was from last year. It was that article that put this share on my radar. Not heard anything since about it though - still holding though.

Yes but barely a trade above 3 grand or so... So a while before a speeding ticket is required.

U22ajs Great post. Yes. A buyout appears to be the only answer to the sudden price rise.
