I can see this hairy hound heading sub 1 squid end this year on absence of a vaccine. Written off my 3k investment for now. Losses will come out of profits elsewhere. Rest of my portfolio I've got full confidence in, only this great British hound letting the side down. and still got 50% cash on sidelines for when safe, effective vaccine is announced.

If there is to be an underwritten rights issue, they are dithering.

It will need at least £1bn to make any difference.

from finals 27th August,

"While our actions have helped to secure the Group's immediate future, we recognise the material uncertainties resulting from COVID-19 and the need to rebuild our balance sheet for the longer term. We have identified a number of potential disposals that are expected to generate proceeds of more than £2bn, including ITP Aero and a number of other assets. Furthermore, in light of ongoing uncertainty in the civil aviation sector, we are continuing to assess additional options to strengthen our balance sheet to enable us to emerge from the pandemic well placed to capitalise on the long-term opportunities in all our markets."."

Some kind of big equity raise is likely IMO.

Boeing report on 737 max, out today, looks damaging.
Airlines, manufacturers, suddenly the whole industry looks bankrupt.
But this industry is not alone, so many industries in trouble.

Warren East must regret moving from Arm.
Out of a growing enterprise to a shrinking one.

privatised in June 1987.
170p fully paid.
That is 33 years ago.

What should we have done with Uncle Ebineezer's inheritance at that time.
buy a nice house in Richmond, or buy a shedload of RR. shares?
Decisions, decisions.

Who would have guessed that RR would rise from 170p to 190p in 33 years.
Try not to think of inflation.

Added few today.
No logical reason other than hope.
Hoping this Covid thing will subside.

It does not seem to be very serious for most healthy people under aged 60.
Even with symptoms.
Symptomless positive tests are meaningless.

ok, don't say it, we may kill granny.

cancer, heart, altzeimers and the rest do not matter anymore.
..just covid.

some on here deserve their comeuppance because when others warned them of the danger ahead they were ridiculed.so just deserts i am afraid.patience will be required if you can hold on for another 5 years because these will fall further.i would not average here.only do so when they start going up again otherwise you may increase your losses.

It's like trying to catch a falling knife. Number of companies looking like bargains but likely to be bigger bargains in a month then another month.
50% invested unfortunately, wish my portfolio was 100% cash from end July.
