"We wait. We are bored. No, don't protest, we are bored to death, there's no denying it. Good. A diversion comes along and what do we do? We let it go to waste... In an instant all will vanish and we'll be alone once more, in the midst of nothingness!"

GG, quite! Also reminds me of The Unbearable Lightness of Being; only movie I've ever walked out of midway.
Still looking for that reason to hold - and ROC's PR Dept are certainly not helping.

... the investment equivalent of Godot!

PS. Has anyone ever sat through a production of Waiting for Godot and enjoyed
it? As much fun as holding ROC shares I'd guess.

Christ it's quiet on here. With GKP going ballistic and even TRP surging today, am looking for reasons to hang onto ROC. Anyone care to remind me what we're waiting for news-wise short to medium-term ?

Anzon expects production upswing at BMG

SYDNEY -- Production testing is under way from the Basker-3 (B3) well in the Bass Strait, according to operator Anzon Australia, a subsidiary of ROC.

This follows the successful installation of a multi-zone SMART completion, designed to optimize selective production from the targeted Basker intra-Latrobe reservoirs. B3 should produce at around 2,000 b/d once the current reservoir clean-up/test program is concluded.

The Basker-7 (B7) development well is currently at a depth of 3,537 m (1,078 m), and should reach target depth of 3,950 m (1,204 m) in the next few days. This well is expected to deliver around 3,000 b/d once tie-in and commissioning work is completed in September.

However, the Basker-2 (B2) well has had to be shut-in and isolated following a minor leak on the subsea choke on the Basker A manifold. Isolation and pressure tests have confirmed the manifold's production integrity, and production is continuing from other wells.

Anzon is working on a repair plan. The Basker-Manta-Gummy (BMG) production system will be offline for around eight weeks from mid-September for inspection and maintenance and installation of a gas compressor package on the Crystal Ocean FPSO. An installation support vessel, due on site to conduct tie-in and commissioning of B7, may also be deployed to accelerate repair of the B2 choke.

BMG is currently procuring at an average of 1,100 b/d, but further additions from B3 and B7 should lift this rate to around 6,000 b/d before the planned downtime in mid-September. Once B2 is also restored, output will increase to around 10,000 b/d.

Second page states......

Eligible shareholders

The offer is open to Australian and New Zealand shareholders on the share
register of ROC on the Record Date of 7.00pm (Sydney time) on 30 June 2009.

(However, don't feel too bad at our exclusion. The placing price is A$0.78 where as the share price is currently A$0.655. Cheaper to buy in the market currently)

Anyone holding the UK shares are not offered as I understand it

Can anyone confirm?

likely to close at about 78 in oz or aboyt 38p equivalent in Uk . Seems a bit harsh in view of rights terms but predictable !

* an offer of approximately 88 million ordinary shares, representing approximately
15% of ROC's issued share capital, at an issue price to be determined under an
institutional bookbuild;

"oversubscibed" (at about 38p)

(I wonder if the "takeover" rumours were mistaken "placing" vibes? Hmmm)

suspended in OZ but not here . May open down on monday in OZ ( lead market) following the placement as so much dilution. But strong oil price might give some support .

Morning Steve: will check them out. And am I just? Anything involving holes in the ground... I did have some OYM who are in VN, but got so bored with their underperformance that I sold and stuck it in our friend CEK - which has so far been a very good experience. Bar's open - Cheers!
