AGM TRADING STATEMENT

Robinson plc ("Robinson" or the "Group" stock code: RBN), the custom manufacturer of plastic and paperboard packaging based in Chesterfield, is holding its Annual General Meeting today at 11.30 am. The Chairman, Alan Raleigh, will make the following statement:

"It is pleasing to report sales growth of 15% in the first four months of 2019 compared with the same period last year. Underlying volumes are 12% higher with the balance of the increase attributable to increased prices offset by movements in foreign exchange rates. Margins and operating costs were at a similar level, with a consequent increase in operating profits.

Net borrowings are at a similar level to the end of 2018, after capital expenditure of GBP1m.

We expect lower sales in the second quarter from reversal of the stock builds relating to new product launch pipelines, Brexit contingency planning in the UK and from re-phasing of new projects across the Group.

The outlook for the year remains in line with previously communicated sales growth (i.e. double digit %) and market profit expectations."

Dan

Debt was 8.5m of which 4m was spent improving cost cutting last year.
EBITDA is 3.4m v debt at 8.5m

Thats not crazy high at all in my opinion.Headroom remains over 5m

The company has come through a re structuring and is very lowly valued.
I think there is a recovery story here and i expect the shares to be north of 100/120p within a year.

doesn't take much to shift these, spread too wide to encourage much activity though. Yield currently 7.9%

It's not impressive at all. Negative £1.5m free cash generated in the period to generate that level of profit. Has a history of producing volatile results. Heavily indebted. Questionable macro outlook. If capital spending goes back to 2.5 million again, but they keep paying this level of dividend, they will hardly churn out more than £0.7m per year on my back of the envelope. Versus a mountain of debt now.

Bear in mind, too, the whole shebang is valued around the freehold even in a depressed market.

I guess the results weren't too bad, but why are they still paying a big dividend when net debt is up yet again? They say they don't expect to sell those surplus properties anytime soon so shouldn't they be a bit more conservative with cash?

Cusick was involved in the disastrous Poland acquisition!

Company needs first class management which they will not find internally.
