Dr. Copper Might Be Sick Long After The Coronavirus Is Gone

It’s the only commodity given the “doctor” tag for its ability to tell if all things economic will get better or worse. And true to the faith bestowed upon it, Dr. Copper might be sick long after other commodities rebound from the impact of the coronavirus, reinforcing its role as the seer of all that ails the economy.

The red metal was one of the most gutted raw materials this week as the globe’s latest health scare sparked risk aversion from Beijing to New York to Wellington.

In Wednesday’s trade, copper futures were up less than 1% in New York and London trade, emerging from a 10-day rout — its worst losing streak in six years — that wiped almost 10% off its value.

When Oyu Tolgoi mine is finally commissioned it will be the World's 3rd largest copper mine and produce 95,000 tons of copper ore per day.

If the markets run the right way it could still do 5600, but at the moment with this China Virus I'm personally concerned Oyu Tolgoi mine is going to get set back.

But what do you get? Moron's posting this will be up to 4400 in now time the Dow will pull the FTSE 100 up! The China virus will get contained in no time!

how about you boyo with 5600p by May or you will run naked down your lane

we can all suggest scenerios that might happen, thats why there is always a risk

Being optimistic one hopes to profit, get divi and buy cheap

Well that's not true if you do enough research, because Chinalco will be forced sellers into Australian stock market rules with how much they can hold, if RIO go into another buy back programme. So analyst's are expecting a larger special Divvy with RIO this year and no buy back programme to keep Chinalco from being a forced seller.
