thanks . Estate agents do not just make gross exaggerations but throw in an out and out lie occasionally ( a bit like politicians ( . 3 good size bedrooms does not mean
a double bedroom, another "double" which might almost take a single bed and a tiny boxroom ! ( smile )

I did not mean that and have no idea why there is a discount or why it is much more with BHP. Who knows if it wwill change in the future . have a good weekend and I have the boring talk of house hunting today and tomorrow - thrill a minute !!

I notice that RIO in UK npw trades at about a 50p discount to RIO in USA and it used to be almost in line . But BHP ( BLT ) only trades at a 5p discount !

There is a big buyer for shares in Rio Tinto (RIO) in the market, and its name is Rio Tinto. Last night, the diversified miner said it would use the $2.5bn booked from the sale of its Coal & Allied division to accelerate its 2017 share buy-back programme even further. This will consist of $560m in an off-market tender, with the remainder added to the $1.5bn already earmarked for on-market share purchases.
We recently turned buyers of the shares’ well-supported income case, and remain bullish.
