09/11/2018 10:46 | Borg, and Rubicon also recently announced they had settled their legal dispute with The Guardian over hidden fees, without going to court.. "Had the case reached court, it would have shone a light on the complicated nature of the online advertising ecosystem, which is under scrutiny from marketers seeking to clear up ambiguity over fees to ensure their advertising dollars are well spent. Some so-called supply-side platforms charge both publishers and ad buyers using their technology and services, while others only charge publishers. In November last year, Rubicon Project stopped charging buyers." | sikhthetech

08/11/2018 21:16 | Interesting article in today's FT regarding Sorrels new company S4 The company is negotiating to purchase MightyHive Martin Sorrell is closing in on his second acquisition since starting his new S4 Capital group and is in talks to buy MightyHive, a US programmatic advertising company, according to people briefed on the plans. Sir Martin set up S4, his new marketing venture, this spring shortly after leaving WPP, the advertising group he ran for more than 30 years. S4 has already made one acquisition when it bought MediaMonks, a Netherlands-based interactive agency, in a €300m deal that was first reported by the Financial Times. The talks are at an advanced stage, although one person with knowledge of the situation cautioned that they could yet break down and that a deal was not guaranteed.MightyHiv The company’s prospectus says that S4’s goals are to embrace “data, content and technology” in an “always-on environment” for brands. In September, Sir Martin told AdAge that he wanted to get S4 revenues to $300m “in a fairly short period of time”. Sir Martin has injected £40m of his own funds into S4, with other backers providing £11m. His investors include Lombard Odier, the Swiss private bank, and Toscafund, the investment house founded by Martin Hughes. Given that Lombard Odier owns 11.03% of RythmOne and Tosca 29% Our Management are saying nothing Algo trades are controlling the SP Whats the betting RythmOne will be Sorrell's third acquisition? | severnof9

SupportFreeContent - browser extension... similar to GetCheep from years ago... Information in public domain... why would any company close an operation just weeks after describing it as a 'pioneering' operation and just as the Yume deal was announced... seems a very odd thing to do...maybe it was a coincidence.... will the new management find any skeletons???. SupportFreeContent was described as a Pioneering Initiative in fy2017 results... "Another pioneering initiative designed to enhance the experience for RhythmOne publishers is called Support Free Content. This initiative arose out of the need to recapture revenues lost due to ad blocking. Support Free Content helps publishers address ad blocking by offering consumers choice - gating their access to publisher content via a set of monetization options that range from subscription, to white listing within their ad-blocker, to downloading a browser extension that provides alternative avenues for monetization." According to Alexa, seems like it was closed around Aug/Sept 2017, during the latest reported fy, fy2018 So it seems like it was closed around Sept 2017, possibly when the rthm/Yume deal was confirmed.. 23/08/17 - press speculation: 04/09/17 - confirmation of Yume deal: | sikhthetech
