Upped to Outperform at Credit Suisse. Think profits warning unlikely, expect solid results, target 480p.

Why is it up today...broker upgrade or any news out...must say it has lagged behind...since start of year...

Interesting to see Fidelity have 6.4% stake.

Results are on 1 MARCH 2007 ans shares go ex-div on 14 MARCH 2007

Only hope of support before results will be a continuously climbing market. IMHO

Anyone seen any analysts expectations for the results ? There's usually a few kicking about for FTSE 100 companies but I've not seen any for RTR this year.

Then again, that placing seems to have turned sentiment against them at the moment; short of announcing something like a quid dividend I'm not sure what Glocer can do to change it.

Results on March 1st.

Dead money to then.

We could end up looking back on the current placing as providing support at 4.30...

Agreed Peetle - no-one likes to be on the wrong side of the big
investment institutions - but what they do can have a number of reasons
completely outside of the share itself.

I was banking on a run up to the results....

The big traders are just as prone to getting it wrong as us punters. I got burnt last year when there was a huge placing in Ashtead by Morgan Stanley for around 15p below the then price (which had been sinking). But AHTs on the way back now (after I averaged down quite successfully) - which MS has missed.

It could be that RTR has come back from 90p over about 4 years so Citygroup think they've had a good run for their money and that there are better opportunities elsewhere.

Then again, there seems to be a bit of "jam tomorrow" about RTR. If Glocer comes out on the 1st March and says "there will be loads of jam, but it's the day after that" we'll be lucky to hang on to 400p.

Average 9 Million per day, but maybe another placing will occur increasing the overhang. Not always but often, what looks like a strange sale, turns out to be a shrewd move a few weeks later.

In this day and age surely if they knew something we don't they would not dare act in such volumes, but perhaps they are simply clever traders and have done their research and feel down is the way for this. I hold no position but would personally feel 4.00 again in the short term.

One to watch.

thanks peetle -

yea, I always get confused on these 'placings' - but I guess
it must be a sell... - agree that the overhang should clear
pretty quickly though.

Peetle -

so drop today is because of institutional selling in your opinion?
How do you the placing wasn't for a buy - (after all they tend to get a discount on large orders)

when are the results due (i.e., the date) - ta J

Bloody typical. I'm looking to raise some cash by selling a bunch of RTR and hoping for £4.50 odd. In come CityGroup with their size-9s and place 50M shares between 4.28 and 4.32. I presume this means the price will be held around this range until the overhang clears.

Anyway, why sell this many 3 weeks from the results, do they know something we don't, and if so, should we all run for the hills ?
