Surely the acquisition increases the risk factor of this share - cant see how the acquisition justifies todays rise. Looks like 'irrational exuberance' after a sharp climb in the share price

better to be sure from a RNOW point of view then , and tie the earnout to profits.

the point is in this situation is that costs clearly aren't fixed - (and lets face it, they are probably staffing up into an investment phase, like all this sector) - so the vendors weren't happy to accept an operating profit based earnout.

Well, their other costs are pretty much people - ie fixed.

hmm, gross margin related earnouts.....ie - incentivised to grow the topline, but profits can wait.....

I have taken profits and invested in Chemistry Communicationn as it has got similar profits and growth profile but only valued at £4.6 million compared to Research now that is valued at £55 million. It is traded on Plus Markets but well worth a looking at before the train leaves the station!

Could have been - but I think yesterday was natural profit-taking, after the shares had risen 100% in 4 months and been comprehensively rerated. Shares are always more liquid on results day, and it provides an opportunity for short-termers to take their profit.

We can't expect the same rate of climb over the next four months. But the business is clearly booming, and there's no telling how far it could go in a year.

Stunning results I'd say. It is a shame market sentiment has turned but these could be worth picking upon dips!Morrisons rises 5% after 6.3% rise in sales and warnsof tough trading conditions. RNOW TREBLES profits and is confident of further progress yet it falls! IT IS A FUNNY OLD GAME, SHARE INVESTING!

Outstanding results, comfortably ahead of forecasts. Not really cheap, but on this showing the shares could go quite a bit higher.

Just a few headlines from the results:--

Final Results - profits trebled

The Board of Research Now, the leading European online fieldwork provider to the market research industry, is pleased to announce its Final Results for the year to 31 October 2006.

'Fieldwork' is the collection of survey data via personal interviews - a process that Research Now undertakes online from its panel of over one million potential respondents in 20 countries - making Research Now the owner of one of the largest online research panels in Europe.

Highlights:

• Turnover nearly tripled to £9.6m (2005: £3.6m)
• Profit before tax more than trebled to £1.6m (2005: £0.5m)
• Strong cash generation - net cash of £2.4m at year end (2005: net cash
£1.4m)
• Valued Opinions panels expanded to cover 20 countries
• Significant overseas expansion in the United States, Australia, Germany
and France, all profitable at the year end

Commenting, Chris Havemann, Chief Executive, said:

'I am delighted to report the past year, our first as a public company, has been a tremendous success, bringing us to the forefront of the European marketplace and indeed our emergence as a global player with intent.'

'We look forward to leveraging our global capabilities and the favourable market environment for our online proposition continuing, with a view to delivering substantial profitable growth in 2007 and beyond.'

Looking good.

Cheers

Th.

Hmm, results will need to be good after this rise. Bought these at 198.32p on 30 August, so a two-bagger in just over 4 months (added a few more in the following days, and not quite 100% up overall). We're certainly expecting a lot of jam tomorrow - but is much of it in the price already? You can see I'm getting a bit nervous. :-)
