02/8/2008 10:27 | Someone has bought 50,000 shares in the last few days and the price has ticked up. Spread still wide though | darcon
23/7/2008 18:00 | Hopefully good news as I have built my stake to a touch under 18,000 shares. Opportunity, I see that they have had a mention of their business to business panels for some time on their website: However, I also see that Phil Rance is responsible for business to business and he joined RNOW relatively recently in February 2008. I expect the six months he has been in the company will have brought him well up to speed and hopefully thecompany as you say will be able to report on whatever great new projects and other initiatives that he and his team have championed. | darcon
23/7/2008 13:51 | I have heard through the grapevine that there should be some news soon regarding business to business panel building. This will clearly be an interesting area as YouGov have also gone down this route | opportunity
06/7/2008 20:01 | Company may also need to do more to increase broker interest and coverage of the stock. Currently only four brokers seem to be following: Cannacord Adams (house broker) - CANA Peel Hunt - KBC Winterflood Securities - WINS Landsbanki - LAND Many other stocks appear to have greater followings. | darcon
06/7/2008 12:02 | We're in a bear market and we are seeing people selling into any rally. There is also a lack of buyers in the market. Moreover, many PIs who may have been in this share sold out last year after the profits warning following the unfortunate incident in Feb 2007. IC did a write-up this week (see page 65 of the magazine ) where they gave the company a "good value" rating and commented that it trades at "a significant discount to sector peers". Other points made in the IC article: - last year's unfortunate events overcome - costly investments in building online panels paying off, leading to reduced use of third-party panelists and boosting operating margins to 14.3% - 88% of revenue generated from repeat business - 220 new clients added in the H1 period - "sweet spot" is multi-country work for global corporations such as Nokia account to MD - RNOW is 5th largest player in US market - US market is rapidly consolidating - RNOW prefers organic growth - RNOW concentrating in this coming year on growing business in Asia and America - House broker expects full-year EPS of 21.6, rising to 30.5p in 2009 | darcon
06/7/2008 00:35 | Great results, but what has happened to the share price? | dosser2
01/7/2008 08:29 | Very good results and also I note the phrase "seen a buoyant start to the second half". For any casual readers who need their interest primed here are the highlights exactly as stated. · Record results - significantly ahead of market expectations · Revenues up 92% to £19.1 million · Strong growth in all markets o Repeat business generating 88% of revenue o Continued new account wins with 220 new clients added in the period · Underlying revenue growth of 50% · Operating profit of £2.7 million with margins increasing to 14.3% · Reported profit before tax of £2.4 million (2007: £0.2 million loss) · Basic EPS of 9.4p (2007: 2.2p loss per share) · Strong net cash inflow from operating activities of £4.7 million (2007: £0.1 million outflow) · Successful Institutional Placing in December 2007 raised £7 million for the Group | hew
01/7/2008 07:48 | One word to summarise...FANTASTI They also appear to have addressed all of the issues that caused last year's mishaps so that they don't repeat in future (eg, improving reporting lines, further build-up of own online panels so don't need to buy them in), which should reassure the market and fund managers looking to invest in future | darcon
01/7/2008 07:17 | Excellent results ...significantly ahead of market expectations :o) | nurdin
30/6/2008 16:31 | Couldn't resist a further punt pre-results tomorrow. Hopefully, they will remain true to their trading statement, and it's upwards from here. We will see at 7am tomorrow. | darcon
04/6/2008 11:37 | The action in the market research arena should start to get interesting now that TNS have published their projected savings from the merger with GfK. WPP are clearly very concerned about the integration of the two businesses with respect to their own market position in the Western Hemisphere. I don't think WPP could stomach a £3.00 cash bid (but what do I know!) So perhaps that they will start to tackle the fundamental issue of collating market research information in a cost effective manner and start bolting on smaller acquisitions that will support their excellent client service teams. | opportunity
29/5/2008 11:23 | Cheers, THELIONsshare! | nessie
28/5/2008 22:57 | Nessie when you exercise your stock option, you "trade in" your options for the actual stock.Share options are an incentive scheme which rewards loyalty and give employees a vested interest in the compamy faring well, beyond even their weekly paycheck. Of course if a company is doing poorly then those with the 'options' can let them lapse. The downside is that they are dilutative for other holders escpecially in penny shares. The impact would depend on the dilution but it oculd also be seen as a positive signal if the option price is not too removed from the current share price | thelionsshare
28/5/2008 11:02 | Does anybody know about charting analysis? I don't but just wondered if we are seeing a technical resitance around the 320 level? | opportunity
09/5/2008 09:31 | Excuse ignorance, but what does the 'exercising of options' (see RNS above)mean for a) the company and b) the possible share price? Thanks all you stock market geniuses/genii! | nessie
08/5/2008 15:52 | Looks very good, sudden jump like that.....any news I have missed? | qs9

07/5/2008 23:58 | Britishbulls posted a "buy confirmed" today: | darcon
07/5/2008 00:16 | I agree Opportunity. I wonder how long it will be before one of the bigger players makes an offer for one of the online focused boutiques? Is it just a matter of time before the senior staff at the bigger players realise that it's cheaper to buy in the expertise than losing time and competitive position in trying to replicate it with old-school staff? | darcon

06/5/2008 22:38 | Hi Darcon Thanks for posting FT article, did not get chance to buy FT today. They are right on all accounts except they have not highlighted that these larger companies have not been as succesful at implementing the new technologies. Why? Senior staff of these companies were brought up on the clipboard and quill and always questioning the quality of internet surveys. Their arguement being that a traditional survey would only need to rely on just 250 respondants to get a meaningful representative figure. They couldn't fathom out that you simply increase your sample size to ensure a statistically signicant result - the incremental cost is peanuts and total cost far lower. If they did understand the economics they should take up acting. The only positive side to this mismangement is that relying on natural wastage and slowly moving to the online route is avoiding potentially crippling redundancy costs. But I feel this is more by chance than by design However, at what cost? They have missed out on growth and also lost some blue chip clients. Time will tell, but it does annoy me that directors in responsible positions behave more like caretakers rather than leaders of the business. At least we are backing the winning teams as staff start infighting and worrying about redundancies rather than growing a business, which is a far better corporate culture to work with :) | opportunity
06/5/2008 18:13 | Good news about Black Rock increasing its stake. I couldn't resist doing so myself too. | darcon |
