Very quiet board - However proves that quitest often best as proved by today's results https://www.investegate.co.uk/renishaw-plc--rsw-/rns/final-results/201707270700142249M/ Fantastic is probably the best word to use -

We continue to manage our cost base and evaluate investment in new business areas. In our half year trading update, we forecast full year revenue to be in the range of GBP500m to GBP530m and profit before tax to be in the range of GBP85m to GBP105m. We are now anticipating revenue to be in the range of GBP520m to GBP535m and profit before tax to be in the range of GBP99m to GBP108m

It's the Investor Day this coming Thursday - we may perhaps get news from that. Otherwise back to sleep for a few more years...

All time high and still safe (imo) Could retrech a bit but then continue upward momentum - (No investment advice given) Just my own gut feel.

Moving up nicely Agreed a long term hold and a world leader in its field. Only cloud on the horison could be an opportunistic t/o bid but otherwise one for the grandchildren.

Doing their bit for the unemployment figures. The workforce at the end of December 2016 was 4,358, an increase of 72 since June 2016. Included in the net increase were 76 graduates and apprentices. The directors thank employees for their valued support and contribution as the Group continues to develop and expand

Looks like it will at least maintain these levels, as long as the market stays positive. I thought that it was a very middling statement though. Cash down, which isn't good. red

Interesting Numis link but not much detail. I see RSW as a very long term hold at current price. Only cloud on the horizon being what happens when the old man finally retires? If the share price falls significantly I shall add. I hear the factory at Wootton is very busy trying to keep up with orders. So perhaps its good value even at the current price, cheers

Yes . I'd held for a long time so got out with a reasonable profit. Not so good many I fear.

Personally looking to buy in at 2300 as the chart seems to be pointing in that direction. The dividend is around 2% so could be worse and the potential for growth is certainly there

Dividend per share (pence) 48.0 46.5 +3.2% last year and year before so not really a significant yield at all but really - despite the reaction last year to the fall off in Far Eastern business - we are looking a a growth stock (I hope!) with its own technology and high investment in new product development. Presumably just over 50p next year payable via an interim and final.
