Not £67m net cash - a big chunk of the proceeds will pay off debt.

mdchand can I double check your figures isnt the 40MW belonging to the AIM PowerGen Corporation ("AIM")operation theyve just sold?

The remaining UK operartion generates 21.3MW + 15MW consented?

Agree with the sentiment completely market cap £52 mill will buy you £67m cash and windfarms generating 21.3 MW, cardbon credits and a bio-power business just thrown in....free!

Interesting announcement in terms of setting a price for the production of electricity per MW. They have 40mw operational with another 40mw at various stages of completion in Canada. Attributing some very rough calculations here (and I know the price would have been based on NPV of cash flows and allowances which we don't have access too), I've taken £1m per operational MW, with £0.5m per planned MW, and perhaps another £9m for the remaining projects, giving us £69m. Looking at their UK assets and applying the same rule of thumb, we have 21MW operational, with 15MW in planning (with extra bits). This gives us a theoretical value of say £30m. Current market cap (going on advfn figures) equates to cash in the bank, so your getting all the UK assets for free. That said, the market does discount cash so will be interesting to see if it can make much headway from here.

There goes the Canadian portfolio. Big changes. Can we have a smaller header now, please? :-)

If the price was right I'm sure they would.

I averaged down so am in at a price of 49p.
I think at least 70p is likely in the next year or so but hoping for well north of £1 as the Canadian portfolio is developed.
I think they might sell a few sites once they have permission to fund building some of the others.

jilop, I think I paid around £1.15 and £1.30 so I was hoping for a bit more than 70p...lol.

I'm very long term, originally enjoying the dividend and trying to be quietly optomistic about the future earnings flow from the Canadian Wind Farms as they become operational.

Hi Praipus thanks for adding CARB to the header, its nice to see it alongside the oil price.
With both prices rising it makes wind more attractive hopefully if we have a positive operational update soon it will lead to a breakout.
Long term I think this has to be worth at least 70p.

Hi jiopl, spike in carbon typical of that before a breakout IMHO, have added to header

Why sell? As I understand it the Canadian side develpment is massive. USA inflationary policy will ultimately drive energy up, even if carbon and environmental issues dont. This is hugely undervalued. The biggest shareholders here would like a higher share price I'm sure but they didnt buy for todays share price thay are looking long term.

thanks, time to move on. Unless an offer comes at a decent level, there is a lot of downside.
the kicker is i knew this would go up, but couldnt sell out of a position to free up cash to buy...bought at top, so the limit order at 50 well close me out at a small loss. lesson learned.

grek0 I sold for a 50% profit. Suggest you do the same.

invest in another renewable energy company with the profits you make here. I suggest ALK for example:

I suspect that our green budget on wednesday will involve price distortions / govt subsidies of some sort to make wind farms far more attractive to developers / investors. I wonder if the people stalking the company are also keeping half an eye on the budget. Favourable budget, bid more likely. Unfavourable budget, walk away. Worth keeping an eye on Novera as well re wind farm angle.

Company says well undervalued and happy to buy back 25% of shares.
The statement would have been drawn up in Febraury as well when the share price was over and above 50p.

Appears people cant see the wood for the trees..

Sure fire winner...

Contested bid would be nice. Airtricity/SSE V some Oil dominated Sovereiegn Wealth funds and this could be at RAV+ 25% premium before you know it.

Strong buy IMHO. Though the more cautious might like to wait for the budget statement on renewables.
