20/3/2018 15:17 | Timothy Cornelius, chief of tidal power developer Atlantis Resources, says the Gigha trial is “of extreme interest”. Atlantis is building one of the world’s largest tidal power arrays in Scotland’s Pentland Firth and expects energy storage to play a big role in future projects, particularly when they involve islands with limited grid connections. “We fully subscribe to the idea that storage is the revolution,” Mr Cornelius says. “If they can prove [vanadium redox flow works as billed] then Scott McGregor will be one of the first people I call.” | dogrunner11
20/3/2018 15:15 | The project owner is unnamed but some of the most prominent UK tidal projects are being developed by Atlantis Resources (ARL LN), which designed, built and delivered the first phase of the flagship MeyGen tidal energy project in Scotland. ARL is currently merging with certain assets of SIMEC Energy (part of the GFG Alliance), owner of an interest in Tidal Lagoon plc, which is also developing a number of tidal projects in the UK, predominately in Wales, and internationally. | dogrunner11
20/3/2018 14:58 | owenski 19 Mar '18 - 07:22 - 597 of 652 0 1 0 Machine tooling is something REDt is committed to and looks like they will be funding it. I suspect costs are still rising here and a fund raise will be likely this year imo. That was yesterday - the fundraising scare. Do you still believe a fund raising (which invariable knocks the price) is still likely this year, but bought in anyhow? Why buy in if you think the price is about to be hammered? Not doing too well today are you owen. Sitting at a loss once the spread is taken into account. In the spirit of openness, which you said you favour, (but probably don't), what price did you pay this morning? | pierre oreilly
20/3/2018 14:30 | owenski: You have to factor in the risk of NOT buying. eg money held are profits LOST. you will only get rich by SPECULATING. If you are under 70 you really need to have some of your portfolio in high risk shares that you have some expertise in (eg odds put in your favour). If you do not LOVE the share, you will be shaken out. But in order to love it you need to be a bit of an expert - write to the board, go to twitter, even visit their sites. Get into it. This is a stock that its worth LOVING and RISKING a bit .... What price could it go up to? Long term why not a £1??? | netcurtains
20/3/2018 14:12 | Chicken01 The market is just not behind this atm, it's only PI's trading it. As a business RED has to prove that it has a viable money making model and at present it's still early days. At 7p, for the current news flow, I think it's worth a punt, but think it'll be dead money for a while until the wider market gets behind it, it's why I say it's worth a punt and not to bet the farm on it. It will still raise money at some point. Personally I weigh the risk as being tolerable to have bought at sub 7p and my weighting reflects my perceived risk, but I wouldn't buy at a much higher price, not until the evidence of business progression can be gleaned. Some of the clueless bitter angry folks on these BB's dont understand risk and fall in love with products then get mad at other folks who have a better understanding. Wishing you success. | owenski
20/3/2018 14:04 | Tradermel: I've already answered that. Some money coming from brussels. Good luck with your holding. I hope you have a wad. Certainly looks good. Well done! | netcurtains
20/3/2018 13:55 | If it is a project being built by European companies then that is what it has to be called, an EU project! | tradermel

20/3/2018 12:47 | Why would they call it 'the EU project' then? | troutisout
20/3/2018 12:39 | re:641 Of course it "remains subject to finance and formal contract awards" .... until it is delivered anything is open to change! All the usual contract obligations and probably dependent of Gen 3 being completed from the tidal companies view! BTW if it is the company I think it is then it is not dependent on EU subsidies, just a group of Scottish and EU companies coming together to complete the whole build. And yes rovi, worth much more in PR and prestige as it is for the monetary considerations as a standalone deal. | tradermel
20/3/2018 12:38 | I have read the RNS several times but remain unclear as to whether the 'Project' they refer to is just the energy storage part of the overall tidal energy generation project or the total generation and energy storage package. Talk of orders this current year makes me think this is just the energy storage part of a tidal generation system already agreed and funded but welcome other peoples thoughts. | edale
20/3/2018 12:34 | Just looky at those projects, they are HUGE..... Centrica working where again? Mega project(s)? | dogrunner11
20/3/2018 12:33 | We continue to innovate in Local Energy Markets and now have over 300 homes and businesses registered to take part in our three year trial in Cornwall. In 2017 we installed the largest flow battery in the UK and in 2018 we expect to install storage and solar PV in 100 homes and commence larger installations of storage, renewables and distributed generation across up to 15 businesses as part of the trial. | dogrunner11
20/3/2018 12:32 | Its certainly good P.R. for red, even on the itm chat. | rovi70
20/3/2018 12:27 | Yeah actually, if this was an "oil field" provisional find the price would be going through the roof. So assume this is a slow burner, we could be talking 50p a share by end of year. I mean this is a big project and clearly GEN3 is what is required here. Well done REDt and Well done all shareholders for holding on and for buying more. This is the big one guys! | netcurtains

20/3/2018 12:04 | tradermel, You seem to know everything about RED, are these types of EU projects likely to get finished, I can see from the RNS, that it "remains subject to finance and formal contract awards". What are the chances it is delayed and delayed and suddenly we aren't in the EU anymore? We saw from Gigha, that delays mean things overtake the original plans.... | troutisout
20/3/2018 11:38 | trader-smell Another bitter little man. I asked all the right questions, you just understand nothing fool. | owenski
