Personally I never go 3rd party opinion only on facts introduced by third parties.
Target sp's never come with a date, so meaningless, though I guess you could assume 1 year.
My term of investment is typically long, sometimes short, but not fixed to 1 year, so again, the target price is of little value in decision making.
I use the the expected EPS for the forthcoming year end and next year end.
That is a process where reasonable expectations can be employed.

SP relative to EPS changes in relation to sentiment, interest rates and un-related world events. Those variables are nigh impossible to predict, but the oscilating sentiment and non-determinable variables will swing back and to around that EPS, so it will come good over time.
Analogy, if you are chasing a rubber tyre bouncing 100m behind a motor boat, do you follow the tyre or the boat.

If UBS are considering 1300p as a possibility then the Times figure of 1250p doesn’t look as startlingly optimistic as it initially did. What is increasingly clear is that the outlook is good and that is there is plenty to go for here.

I thought they were disappointing. Cash/plots/margin/roce all down and expectations unchanged. I was hoping for a more positive result and outlook. It will be interesting to see what ST@IC makes if it later.

I can’t see any negatives in the results which is good.

I’ve read the UBS research and their figures are based on market prices rising 1% pa.- hardly a big hurdle with sentiment rising after the Election.

Their upside target is is 1300p and they have it as their “stand-out value play in the sector”.

Sit back and relax!

The sector upgrades are starting to come through. UBS upgraded RDW 26% and TW 24%.

UBS raises it's price target from 820p to 1030p. Maybe that was partly behind the opening price surge this morning as well as hopes for good interims and a bullish outlook tomorrow.

Stock had been depressed by Brexit but also the charitable foundation selling.

Still lagging a bit behind the sector on valuation but so far has performed exactly as I had hoped over last 3 months.

I initially thought the £12.50 price target to be very optimistic, but on thinking more about it, I don’t think it is. By the time of the publication of the annual results in early September we will be looking at forward eps of say 105p which would put the shares, at that price, on a p/e of still under 12. All quite tenable, I feel, especially if general sentiment towards the sector still holds up.

that 12.50 forecast in the Times, well that seems a nice target. I'd rather sell my nuts than Redrow at this stage - this puppy will fly on a semi positive trading update which I think we will be seeing

Oh well. Still think this will crack 840 by the interims, then drive onwards and ever upwards to over £10 by May. Then I'll bail out.

Well, the share price has held above 800p so I hope that Yertiz is right in that it is "a very good sign of positive things to come".

The interims are only 8 trading days away, on Feb' 5th and, judging by the positive indications at the AGM statement in November, they are likely to be good and the ongoing outlook encouraging too.

I'd say no as increases are similar amongst all HB's and volume is low, today is only .79 * of average volume.

Expecting some profit taking and the share price to close at between 795 and 800 today. Maintaining above 800p will be a very good sign of positive things to come.

...well spp has gone from 600 to 800 in 1 year, so linear projection would make 840 inside 1 month. But then life ain't linear. ;-)
Intra day 807 is yet another ATH.
