Now, a dividend would be nice.

For sure, Caledonian have not continued to increase their stake, without having a game plan in place.

Next year? Maybe sooner than that.

I agree about not going private Sunfish, but i could see other Director purchases, or for that matter the other Institutions, which are sitting on 4% or so. Caledonian has not upped its stake on a whim, i would expect very positive news early next year and the commencement of dividends soon after.

No, Caledonian bought their last tranch at 3.4p and both they and Bassi are close to the 30% limit. The Chairman already has a big holding from when he floated the comapany in 2004.

REI needs to do a deal this year, or it might make sense to take the business private; but I don't think that's what Caledonian/Bassi have in mind.

Could we perhaps see even more Director buying or other Institutions picking some up?

The Chief Exec is highly regarded and sucessful, so I imagine that he want's to move the company along and not just sit and watch the property market pick up.

The rest of the board have a good history and have bought significant shareholdings. Howewver, with Caledonian and Bassi controling over 50% of the shares, they will need to have a strategy to move the share price.

Caledonian clearly see value here and will no doubt be active in getting someone on the board. The current NAV is around 7p per share, not a huge discount as some have said, but personally see these as a decent mid-long term play with little downside risk.

What is a big outfit like Caledonian doing with this?

Something is on the cards.

Looked at these yesterday and came to the same conclusion, and hence not invested.

Searching for larger discounted NAV property plays than here, although their is value here.

affc21,

That would give a share price of 6.41p. Not a huge discount.

Came across this on your iii link:

pg 45, "The Broker's View" - Investors Chronicle 21-27 Aug 2009

"...And Real Estate Investors is a bit of a tiddler with a market value of just £16m, but it has refinanced debts on its portfolio of property in the Midlands, holds £14m in cash, and is backed by Caledonia Investments. And, at 4.25p, the shares are trading at a 40 per cent discount to NAV."

Hi Guys,

How are you valuing RLE?

I can't find a NAV in the Interim results.

Thanks

Billy Cotton's Band Show, that's going back about 45 years. How old are you?

Results look fairly poor - aren't we in a property bubble? You would have at least expected a revaluation surplus rather than a deficit!

The company only floated in 2004.

To have established a solid business in under two years and then go on to raise £25M, through a placing at a premium to the market price, is impressive.

I think the management know what they are doing.
