Oh dear, same old same old here it would seem. Cr*p results again and more of the same predicted in 2018. Maybe 2019? 0r 2020? or 2021? or never?

This might have more bearing . . . London’s theatre industry enjoyed a record year in 2017, with attendances topping 15 million for the first time since records began, while the average ticket cost £46.71. Box office revenues hit £705 million, up 9% compared with 2016, as audiences reached 15,094,573, up 5% compared with 2016. hTTps://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/entertainment/film-tv/news/harry-potter-helps-london-theatres-magic-up-record-ticket-sales-36648951.html

Well as a result of the so called emergency fund raise the company should be well positioned especially with an improving outlook. Also can't prove the counter-factual that they would have gone bust. You may be correct but they are still here and the game is still on. Nigel Wray does seem to have a good record overall. I await the numbers for the tru picture I will then take a more informed view. Certainly without the lack of numbers it does leave a vacuum to be filled. We shall see.

Grade didn't take any personally by the looks. So a new Chairman around the corner?

Oh and am not sure Mouse has called it right all the way. The negativity on breached covenants has not yet come to pass. We will have to see.

Maybe Gate need the money. Grade is still chair here Shares were all placed not dumped on the market or dripped out. TU suggests progress being made So all company commas seem straightforward (tho u can never be sure). Mouse by his own admission knows nothing specific and us giving his viewpoint.

So you know why the Chairman of this outfit has dumped 23.5% of the entire issued share capital of this outfit do you? If so, we're all ears. I not a shareholder but I assume you are?

You might; but I would suggest another path would be to meet with the company and try to better understand the bigger picture, and also the reason behind individual large trades. Of course that leaves you open to being misled, but I would suggest the more raw information, the better.

If the chairman of any company that I owned suddenly decided to dump 23.5% of the entire issued share capital then I'd take that as a vote of no confidence and follow suit.

IronStorm - I don't do sour grapes. I just post what I see. If you look at my posts on this thread then you'll see that they're pretty accurate. As you said, Grade is a NED here. He is chair of Gate Ventures. So why have Gate dumped all their shares?

Well they all went - we shall see if to safe hands or opportunists. TU though was pretty positive as far as I can see. Grade is chair here. As long as he stays then his form in the entertainment sector is pretty good. So in reality until we get firm numbers nothing has changed. Not long to find out in MM is correct or if just sour grapes for some slight.

Yet Gate Ventures participated in the placing in December, buying 88m shares at 1.5p i.e £1.3m so why the about turn and suddenly wanting to divest all their holding?

Looks dodgy if Directors buy, following the disappearing cost savings following redundancies.

Oh dear, it appears that Gate Ventures is getting rid of it's entire stake in R4e. Yep that's 23.5% of the entire share capital. Now that's interesting since Michael Grade is an NED of R4e I believe and the Chairman of Gate Ventures. What a vote of confidence that is. LOL. This company consistently lurches from one disaster to the next:- https://uk.advfn.com/stock-market/london/reach4entertain-R4E/share-news/Reach4Entertainment-Enterprises-PLC-Proposed-vendo/76700422

Well you may be right in the slow start - I just see the reference to "the Directors anticipate an increase in activity levels over 2017" and think thats sounds fine. Also its only one month in - in-line, behind or ahead too early to say with confidence.

I would support an 'under promise/ over deliver' strategy. But to put out a misleading trading update cannot be supported by anyone. They need to keep to facts, even if there are low forecasts in the Market. They will lose more trust otherwise. Gut feel is they have had a slow start.

Maybe it's under-promise and over-deliver? I would not have expected to see a material tick up in H1 but certainly for H2.

Wonder if we will get an update this month and therefore see if progress is being made. We should hear of EBITDA out-turn. And I would like to hear more on objectives going forward.

IronStorm - LOL. https://uk.advfn.com/stock-market/london/reach4entertain-R4E/share-news/Reach4Entertainment-Enterprises-PLC-Trading-Update/75552819 "As a result, the Directors anticipate that EBITDA for the 12 months to 31 December 2017 will be below market expectations." I'm sure they are now trading in line since expectations were considerably revised down, and results will be awful. "new CEO taking a stake in excess of 11% spending his own money (tho of course there are some of those share options)" As I said the absence of any new investors meant he probably had no choice. "probable strategic relationship with Miroma." Gosh how exciting! A probable strategic relationship. Wow! ;) As I said before, investors should be glad that the current investors stumped up to save their own skins otherwise the company would have gone belly up. If you think this is "the best news for sometime" then best of luck. As ever aimho, but bargepole stuff PIs beware.
