I had been waiting for a chance to buy an initial stake here as I was too slow to react and the price got away. Got about £25k invested here now in the low/mid 80's.
Looking for a 50% return over the next 12/18 months.

Hi everyone,

My mate Peter @Conkers3 and myself did a ‘Twin Petes Investing’ Podcast last week and part of our discussion includes RBGP which neither of us hold but it does look quite interesting. We also cover several other Stocks of a similar nature.

As always we also chatted about loads of other Stocks and Ideas for research and a fair bit of educational stuff with regards to Investing and Portfolio Management. We also start off with quite a bit about the overall Markets and where they are most likely heading.

Anyway, if you use Youtube, Apple, Audioboom, Overcast, Google+ or Spotify you can find it under the 'Conkers Corner' Channel (you want Podcast TPI 42) and you can find it on Soundcloud at the link below.

I hope you enjoy it and find it useful, we try to keep them light and they are totally unscripted, not like all the stuffy financial fodder you are probably more used to !!

Cheers, WD

A nice little snippet from Burford's latest blog post...As a partner at a Magic Circle law firm told researchers in late 2020, "The next three years will be busiest three years in international dispute resolution history.... Litigation funding will be a massive factor."RBL of course is a specialist in dispute resolution with the ability to fund select cases off it's balance sheet and with Lionfish being a third party litigation funder, I can't see a better way to benefit from this.

I thought it promising also that Paul Scott admitted that he would buy today. Hopefully this will now get regular coverage in his SCVR, raising greater awareness in the Stockopedia community

RBGP was featured on the MelloBASH panel last night: This is a feature where panel of experienced investors and analyst discuss a few shares and give a verdict Buy, Avoid, Sell, Hold (hence - BASH).

RBGP went down well with the panel and particularly the audience with 52% voting them a buy. So with an audience of 500+ there is good chance that we'll see some new investors taking an interest.

In the past they have stated that they will pay special dividends on completion of successful cases. The amount and timing is of course unknown but the fact that they can re-invest the returns at a money multiple far greater than I could reasonably expect to do, I hope a high percentage will be retained to grow the balance sheet and allow rapid growth through the magic of compounding.

would they get all 100% of the £120m if they won the cases - Have they officially confirmed they will be returning this back to s/holders if thy won both these cases?

tft,

These whale cases are a mixed blessing - due to the uncertain valuation and timescale.
Factor them in and the valuation becomes hugely inflated - this then becomes a focus for negative comment. The Company will get accused of manipulating their figures as happened with Burford - they're getting criticism from the FT and Chronic Investors that should be better informed. They are best off focusing on the core business with these as an additional plus point.

IMHO I think RBGP are taking the best approach - but are going to get some criticism in any case.

any ideas why the broker note and Simon Thompson fail to mention that there is a 'potential' windfall of 150p a share in 2022?
