I don't know anything either.
FWIW I would have thought that there would have been an annoucement by now if the take-over talks were totally dead. Maybe they are just tying up loose ends.
If we hear nothing today I think I'll email them.
I don't know how long the prelims announcement can be delayed.
Anybody have any views?

I notice the exclusivity period ends today Aug 13 2002, so does anyone know anything? The results are also now quite late to usual again what is happening

A year ago today we got the prelim results. I suppose it's being delayed to tie in with an announcement on the expected take-over.

Well Armstrong warned us that 20p was a fair price back in the spring so we haven't really been deceived. However I think that Wray has certainly changed his tune. He used to think 20p was much too little.

Totally agree with you about the excellent divi. Last yr was 0.9p so this yr final divi must be 1p mininum.
That would make 1.8p for the yr. (ie about 10% yield!! -makes my Egg saving A/C yield look ridiculous)
How House broker Brewin Dolphin could f/c divi of 1.4p for yr 2002 last March (ie when they already knew about the 0.8p interim is a mystery to me!)
Anyway it'll just be a good surprise in July.

Don't know about "anything cooking" but there were 2 trades Friday, each for about 600k also. I reckon the Friday ones were a buy and a sell- the sell was delayed followed v soon afterward by a buy.
The trade today was 2p better so its looking +ve.
Suppose its all building up for the Annual Report on about 3rd July.

Its interesting that 168000 shares sold at 18.5p and Friday 160000 at 18.5p
Yet earlier last week the bid price was lower on lower volume sales.

Last yr we got a special div (announced on 31/5, paid mid June).
Could happen again. Rather doubt it since this yr's interim was 4X last yr's.
But just maybe!

The 160000 sell yesterday was probably the highest sell this year.
Volume highest since early February.
The share price could tick up a bit now thats out of the way.

Even 20p price offer if that happened I would think that there would be a decent dividend.

Good to hear it from 'the sharp end' that they are busy. This confirms the company statement that orders are at a record level.
The booming housing mkt has to be good news for the co.

Bluefish,
I haven't heard anymore about the takeover approach- expect its off.
Share price usually drifts down in between interims and finals on negligible trading. Then starts to make a recovery just before results. Looking forward to annual report in early July.

In reply to your request all we can say is that talks are still progressing.

On the subject of share price we are not aware of any reason for the fall other than stock market activity.
