Firstly look back around six months and the share price of RRS is now ahead of the game viz a viz the gold price.

Currently as I type this, spot is $1212 and RRS is around £67.

The correlation with the gold price means RRS should be around £68.50 with a $1250 gold price.

So, we are around about £1.50 ahead of the game, so vulnerable to a short-term pullback.

Here, however is the good and excellent news.

Fiat money now tops $15TRN in the US alone.

If that isn't a clarion call for gold to move higher, I don't know what is.

This is my take on the current scenario:-

Trump dislikes Yellen and Yellen dislikes Trump.

Yellen and the Fed are now hooked on a rate-raising cycle, at least for the time being.

The US$ will continue to move higher on rate hike expectations, but the time isn't far away when Trump will speak out as the soaring dollar will harm his economic plans.

Growth in the US will fall away rapidly from mid-year due to the strong US$.

This will continually frustrate Trump who will be forced into more and more bizarre growth strategies.

Geopolitical upsets will increase and the Fed will eventually be forced to backtrack as they see the harm rate hikes are imposing on the US economy.

Other central banks in the world will continue with very easy monetary policies.

Inflation, turmoil and geopolitical risks will all increase.

The physical gold market will finally usurp the paper one and the true value of gold will be revealed.

China will continue to buy as much gold as they can to possibly link the yuan to the bullion price, thereby creating the world's first gold standard for decades.

The current weakness in gold is due to nothing less than nervous selling by small players, and the same can be said for RRS.

Gold could suffer further on a strong or an inline nonfarm payrolls number with $1,217 and $1,214......

Gold could suffer further on a strong or an inline nonfarm payrolls number with $1,217 and $1,214 as the next key downside targets ahead of $1,211min March highs guarding the psychological $1,200 round level. Bulls need to get back above $1,242 in order to start to feel less uncomfortable.
