Activating the initiative of strategic cooperation between Egypt and Iraq in the areas of oil and gas

Minister of Petroleum Sameh Fahmi assert the beginning of the operational procedures to activate the strategic cooperation that was signed between Egypt and Iraq in the areas of oil and gas.This comes in implementation of various directives of President Mubarak to support Iraq economically, especially in the fields of petroleum for the oil to restore the situation in Iraq to its former glory.

He pointed out that the joint working group which had been agreed on the composition of the expert Egyptian oil companies and Iraqi Southern Oil Company begins its meetings in Cairo after Eid al-Fitr to develop programs and areas of cooperation and the execution site as soon as possible, adding that the coming period will witness intensified presence in Iraq, Egyptian Petroleum.

More on the Egyptians. Compared to a previous article in which the translation seemed to say that a drilling JV had been set up, this says "agreed to study the composition of a joint Iraqi - Egyptian in the field of oil well drilling"
