24/9/2009 15:32 | very very naughty :) looks like mpc might be getting more work than before :) i was told some time ago that weatherfords were not happy at the smaller amount of initial investment mpc needed compared to themselves for well tenders. looks like they have overtsepped the mark trying to put a spanner in the works and its gonna backfire big time :) | bones698
24/9/2009 15:31 | So have MPC won the tender or not? AG, are you hearing that they have? | randlelwa
24/9/2009 15:30 | Well Baker Hughes, still have their SEC monitor, Halliburton just had their one appointed after being fined $450M because of Nigeria LNG, I understand that Weatherford were next in the SEC's sights......and having competed against them in an Arab country for work ...let's just say I had my suspicions confirmed, that they were a fine upstanding company that would never do anything naughty. It means in future that the US companies absolutely cannot (in the case of HAL and BHI on pain of death) do bungs. Of course there is nothing to stop the Asians. | mr p90

The company has also tendered to drill 60 wells more. These wells haven't been awarded yet, he said. These new wells are part of 2010 production plan, he added. The MOC also plans some 15 new wells in these various oil fields, to be drilled by oil ministry's Iraqi Drilling Co. He said the IDC has allocated three new rigs to start drilling these wells. The number of rigs is expected to reach 5 in 2010, he added. | g3a
24/9/2009 15:00 | G3A Sunday, Sep 06, 2009 The MOC signed earlier this year a $224.4 million contract with oil service firm Weatherford to drill 20 wells. The project would add some 20,000 barrels a day next year, Maarj said. "Work to drill these wells hasn't started yet, but expected to start early 2010." | cyberpost
