Re Phalaborwa - from today‘s SA news: The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) clearly has capacity issues. On 24 February, the department gave a presentation to Parliament on its licensing system. It revealed a backlog of 5,326 applications for mining rights, prospecting rights, mining permits, renewals and cessions or the sale of rights.

The backlog for applications for prospecting rights alone was 2,485.

Well it's pretty clear from the share price reaction in the last hour that the seller has definitely cleared. Great news!

I think there has been a seller in the background. Yesterday there was a lot of buying but the price didn't move. Mar well be the warrant conversion shares from the Australian investor. Anyway the good news is, the selling is out of the way which is excellent going forward

4,350,000 shares at 19p at 13:07pm. £826,500 wonder how many days that's delayed from.

When you take a look at the value of what RBW are sat on, it's valuation at 19p is an absolute giveaway. If I were in the White House, panicking about China's monopoly, I would just buy companies like this, end of.

Part of the above article...

At noon on Monday (March 1), Chinese shares related to rare-earth permanent magnets rose rapidly. At the close of trading nine stocks, including Northern Rare Earth, GEM, Baotou Steel and Taihua, had reached their daily limit. With the exception of Hongda Industrial, nearly 60 stocks in the sector followed the upward trend almost across the board. The main net inflow of funds reached 1.97 billion yuan (close to US$305 million).

The reason appeared to be remarks by Xiao Yaqing, the Minister of Industry and Information Technology, who was shown on CCTV telling a press conference held by the State Council’s Information Office, that at present rare earth elements are not sold at a “rare” price – they are sold at a “earth” price because of vicious competition.

His comments follow several months of nationalist spin that China sells its rare earth elements “like cabbages”.

Overall, there is a trend for building reserves and limiting exports because of the trade dispute with the US, and rare earths are seen as China’s ace in bilateral rivalry.

In the results in March 2020 they announced they had acquired 10 mining claims in Zimbabwe. I recently read that they were having meetings in Zimbabwe last month so here's hoping some good news to be announced soon, they aim to be the worlds biggest rare earths producer outside of China so I see lots of upside.

We'll soon get the initial estimated valuation when the JORC Mineral Resource Estimate is published. Can RBW process the carbonate to extract the NdPr at this stage ? Will they be selling RE carbonate ? Or NdPr when they start the Sasol plant ?I'm excited for the future.

Yes we can all quote selectively from the rns - the bit you are missing is"  Initial reports suggest that the mixed rare earth carbonate is likely to generate up to 80% of the underlying rare earth metal prices for the Project,"

It's in the technical RNS. Sasol produced RE carbonate. Until RBW can complete the next stage processing like their Gakara off take partner, the plant at Phalaborwa will still produce RE carbonateRough price is 31000 ChYuan for rare earth oxide content 42% - 45% Or $4800. Happy to be correctedThe pilot plant developed by Sasol successfully produced three tonnes of mixed rare earth carbonate and an associated cerium oxide from the gypsum.
