"Radicle Projects is undergoing a radical restructuring"

"....After an interview with Radicle's CEO, Tim Bennett, it is evident that the company is considering all the options available to it, including asset sales, in an effort to clean up the balance sheet and get the company back on track.

Whether Bennett can pull this off remains to be seen, but if the debt can be restructured and the company can raise cash from one or two asset disposals, Radicle will be a much healthier looking investment...."

Certainly looks dead but then the boss spends £1500 on the shares! Not exactly a fortune but then again not the action of someone who expects it to disappear at the end of the month. A cynical attempt to appear of the directors buy list and get some interest?

Looks like this company is dead in the water if you ask me!

Looked at this further. One to avoid at the moment in my opinion. The company is cash negative at the operating level still and needs extra cash in the second half of 2009. I'm not sure why, as they seem to have sufficient cash (£8m or £4-5m after paying creditors). I suspect it is due to a possible breach on the debenture covenants. Bottom line for this company I'm afraid is that they can't afford to finance the £15m 8% debenture that they took out in 2007. Finance costs were £1.3m in the year which is a lot to fund. This will imo either bring the company down or seriously dilute existing shareholders. Only upside is significant timber cash flows in a few years time, but impairing these assets because of expected lower yields doesn't bode well.

Very cheap at this price though, even with the convertible debt. Will research further.

I`m so glad that I didn`t continue to follow these.
My rationale in posting 101 8 Oct 08 appears to have been spot on.

oh dear...looks like this is in trouble. It's difficult enough to value straightforward investments, so I can understand the difficulties in valuing biological assets. Doesn't bode well at all here given the large amount of convertible debt.

There are a few paragraphs about Radicle in the December edition of Aimzine. The RDP reference is in the article on 'AIM for Income'. Aimzine is a free online magazine - register at

It's the £15m bond issue that will sink this one.
