21/11/2003 13:27 | ONE IN FOUR OF US WILL AT SOME TIME SUFFER FROM CANCER Most of us can relate to cancer in some way, and the majority on this site run a pc for a large part of the day. You have probably heard of the number crunching networks run by seti, here is imo a far more worthwhile use of your pc. download this software and it runs in the background (or if you choose when pc is idle) of your computer to screen molecules that may be developed into drugs to fight cancer. Each individual computer analyzes a few molecules and then sends the results back over the Internet for further research. This project is anticipated to be the largest computational chemistry project ever undertaken and represents a genuine hope to find a better way to fight cancer. You can also chose to work on anthrax or smallpox. the link to the site is advfn has a team already set up which you can join, but only has at present 155 members. It took me a while to configure the settings, so if you get stuck, and i can't help, i'm sure we can find someone who can. there is a previous thread which is 3 years old - and the links are now outdated. Make a difference while you make money, and if you are not having a good day - remember I'TS ONLY MONEY | sticky | |
