1. I'm not telling you who I spoke to for reasons which should be obvious.

2. I don't really care one way or the other whether you believe me.

3. I don't really have a motive or any emotional attachment to anyone here either making or losing money on a long or short position.

4. This is a discussion forum about stock in a company which I know a lot about (well actually the industry generally) and I'm simply declaring that, despite my still bearish feelings on many aspects of this company, I've taken a bug long position (by my standards and means, at least!)

5. I have it on very good authority the deal is done is all I'm saying and explainin that this is why I'm happy to go in now. I still actually think that it's not the best deal in the world for slaters - v risky to say the least. I don't believe there's big value in telematics or the rest of qpp and when this deal is done I'm straight back out.

Megamind - no not either. I reduced my short last week. Small position right now. Looking to add if news bad. Admit I could have played QPP better but AFR short profits more than compensated.

BTW AFR twits hounded me too when I warned there repeatedly.

Again who is your source for this insider information, and why would you disclose to a public bb if true?

Alternative a): it is true and you are an altruistic do-gooder who also wants longs to share in the upside

b) it is false and you want to pump the share price as high as possible, selling into strength

1. Who is your source?

2. If the deal is £640m why do you feel the need to inform the world via a bb?

I have been bearish on this - and I understand a lot about this industry. But S&G is a done deal, and I also know that PWC is "actually alright" Not a complete vindication by any means and some 'creative' practices on accruals and carrying values of acquisitions will mean slapped wrists and change of tact. In fairness, there appears to be some tacit acknowledgement of that anyway and a willingness to change behaviours by the new board.

The deal is indeed for £640m (or £630 my source may have said) plus a few hundred million on performance of the WIP.

Ready my post history on this share. Such is my confidence in the strength of my source I went long on this big time on Friday last week.
