10/10/2004 13:49 | dell314, I'm not suggesting QTR's value is 15p/share but that there is value in this company with potential revenue stream from licensing its technology. | marine boy

10/10/2004 10:56 | Marine Boy - 9 Oct'04 - 15:29 - 1442 of 1446 Remember Tardis, AKA Transcomm with their national network. BT bought them out last year at 15p/share. QTR's technology could be good fit. And for all you guys laughing at those prepared to take a punt, you know SFA about what is about to be announced. Marine boy - I can see your train of thought here. You clearly think that BT will be buying out every company that has some sort of telecoms technology for 15p a share. Hmmm, that would be nice, wouldn't it? Why don't we think about this together(don't worry. it won't hurt!!)? From most recent results statements: Transcomm had annual turnover of c. £14mln. QTR had continuing operational turnover of £nil Transcomm had a net asset value of c. £8mln. QTR had a net asset value of £94k + placing proceeds Transcomm had EBITDA of c. £1.5mln QTR had EBITDA on continuing operations of minus £600k. Gosh, aren't they similar!! LOL! 08/10/2004 15:23 | Agreed, my pocket pc phone is gprs based, cant get sat nav on it but future models will undoublty have this as standard, and of course the ability to pinpoint the phones position and the person using it. Company phones for example, a security firm could issue its guards with such devices and pinpoint there constant movements with precision. Orange tell me that this is already possible although not with pinpoint accuracy, if i was a company and issued all employees with the same device i have i could monitor there position within a few hundred yards assuming they that the employee had there gprs activated. | jedi shorter
08/10/2004 15:16 | I still cannot understand why everyone is getting sucked in here! The QTR technology is nothing new (the technology has been around for 25 years)and very expensive to establish. Benefits over GPS are minimal and the latest GSM cell location technology is evolving rapidly! The fact that Siemens are dropping their datatrack technology (same radio based technology)in favour of GPRS and GSM together with the fact that QTR could not sell it in the UK, should be an indicator. All IMHO etc and DYOR but don't get sucked in without really understanding this! | goldenmember
