gabriel - It is irresponsible not to comment either way IMO. With the amount of share price movement, the company should really confirm or deny.

Incidentally, it is also irresponsible to lose massive amounts of money and then put your main trading business into administration(twice, if you include the Aussie parent)...

It would be irresponsible of the company to ignore the rumour and not comment if it where untrue. Especially given the 60% rise of yesterday, don't you think?

rcorlett - it helps if you understand that optimist is a proven liar.

Optimist has no more idea than you or I, about if or when a contract will be announced.

Could just be a big rumour planted by someone with lots of stock to shift.
Only time will tell....

Good morning optimist. I've just interviewed someone who said their interests were "going for walks in areas of natural beauty". Very nice but a strange thing to say.

So do you think news is due this afternoon? very rare to announce a contract that late in the week isn't it?

I heard a rumor but...

Chunky buying continues.....a 290,000 odd buy (large buy for QTR) has come through around 2.90 pence from an hour ago. The MMs absorbing the few sells that have gone through as well.

I have heard on the rumor mill (from who i trust to be a rather good source) that the announcement is coming this afternoon.

Lets wait and see.

Optimist - re your earlier post about licences, QTR have already said that the cost of the spectrum licence was prohibitive and one of the key reasons that they had to change the business model(i.e. put most of the business into administration!!).
One assumes, therefore, that they no longer pay for it....

Even ignoring the licence cost and technical support costs, QTR spent approx £1mln on admin and sales in the last six months.
Assuming, there is a new contract(no sign of any announcemnet yet!!) it'll need to be big to make any difference to QTR's appalling cashburn.

Incidentally, the BT tie-in with GBG was ramped all over AFN and their share price is back to near annual lows.
