Not a big holding for me but certainly worth seeing how the international growth in particular pans out. High quality but expensive company.

It certainly isn't cheap but then as pointed out by another poster broker forecasts might be too conservative

Perhaps the 'promotion' is working wonders given the strength of today's RNS?!

Statement does say profitability is ahead of expectations though.

Does look good, but the promotion will have a significant effect on profitability I reckon.

Yes indeed. Trading ahead. Total number of units sold up 74%. Sales in France and USA, its early new growth markets, "almost doubled".

Good that positive momentum is returning here. Blue sky imminent?

It is that time of year when tip sheets and newspapers come out with their list of "nap" tips for 2016. I would not be at all surprised to see QTX among the favourites.

I was late to realise that there is a decent growth business here, cfro.

I hadn't spotted the software added value and just thought of it as a spy in the cab with no barrier to entry.

I have a bigger holding in TRAK than i do QTX but lets see just how 2016 unfolds for QTX....

TRAK acquisition this morning. TRAK deal with AA.
QTX highly priced, a seller and no news ...
....all add up to price pressure.

The acquisition further prejudices my view on TRAK, but that might be post hoc justification of my decision to buy a first holding in QTX.

I will put QTX on my 'increase' list if they deliver decent organic growth in customer base (rather than just profits).

Interesting.

Obviously this has been the seller depressing the price over recent days.
Now below 3% so hopefully the selling is now stopped or if they want completely out then there shouldn't be much stock left.

Sure, and I couldn't bring myself to back TRAKman's haircut.
However, I suspect that Q has been pushing for market share over profitability with their free 'till Xmas offer.

..the best dog in this fight so far....

Yes, APAD but how long before QTX plays catchee-upee?

No reason why QTX couldn't also win similar type contracts as TRAK imo.

I note the large trades today so perhaps the low might be in for now and on that basis i have been adding to my holdings today.

Trading update due mid Jan.

Been overshadowed a bit by TRAK's contract with AA, perhaps?
Can't say that I'm overly impressed by that, but TRAK has been the best dog in this fight so far.

These three videos well worth watching for anyone interested in investing.

Points of note:

business very cash generative

Pays out 50% of free cashflow in divis but still leaves plenty of cash for R&D.

Expanding into France and the US.

Andy says fully intends to meet full-market expectations in profit forecasts and says this with a very straight face imvho!

Thanks again APAD. Pleased you are here with your analytical brain to run the rule over this.

Re the PEG of 1.3. As far as i can see the broker's are forecasting growth in eps of 'only' 10% this year and 19% for 2016/17. With the forward pe of above 20 then, obviously, the PEG comes in above 1.

If as i suspect, and only time will tell on this front, these forecasts will be smashed. If so then for obvious reasons the growth rate increases, the forward pe comes down and the PEG would fall below 1.

Thanks, APAD; and good to see you here, too, cfro. I must admit I am surprised that until today's posts there has been no other activity on this board since October.

QXT: an exciting company "still off the radar"? It should get itself a tracker :-)

Thanks cfro.

In some ways the (relative ) lack of attention the management pays to investors is comforting. Paul Scott criticises BRY and the management is all over him!

Usually I don't mind a high PE if the company has a decent barrier to entry.
There is an argument that their software investment is a barrier to entry, but I am not convinced. Having said that the competition from the likes of RAC is laughable.

ps
The haircut on the chap from TRAKM8 was hilarious. Worth watching the video just for the spectacle.

I bought an initial holding in PHD at the same time (70% up)! Not sure I fully understand either company.

I also took a small stake today. (can buy at 255p which indicates a seller).

APAD, re high pe. Yes it is high but imo it is justified given the enormous growth in the business and, arguably more important, its sector. The Telematics sector is currently growing at a cagr of 22%!

What really interested me in particular is their US side of the business which is growing fast from a low base. Increased sales here could really add value.

A trading statement was released 19th Jan this year so i would expect one around this date in 2016.
