Hi Wad,Do you see a return to 320p. My investment is starting to break even after a longish hold. Worth holding to through 250 and upwards? It's had a good run over the last couple of months. Will it falter? It dropped a long way from 320......

If you look at the 2 yr chart then you would not pick this out as a selling point. But you would on a 2 month chart! Depends if you have long term confidence in the company and whether you mind risking being locked out. My trading strategy has probably not been good for my portfolio so am trying to give it up.

Just noticed this from last week; Pre-close statement and update on LTPA 29 March 2018 QinetiQ Group plc ('QinetiQ' or 'the Group') today issues an update before entering its closed period for the full year ending 31 March 2018. The Group maintains its expectations for overall performance for FY18. Underlying trading in both the EMEA Services and Global Products divisions was as expected during the final quarter of the year. QinetiQ's largest contract is the 25-year Long Term Partnering Agreement (LTPA) with the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD), signed in 2003 and running until 2028 with five-year repricing points. The Group is in detailed and constructive repricing discussions with the MOD regarding the operation and management of 15 LTPA sites and facilities not covered by the amendment signed in December 2016. Given the number of the facilities involved in the discussions, QinetiQ and the MOD have developed an interim pricing arrangement for twelve months beginning 1 April 2018, covering QinetiQ's continued delivery of test, evaluation and training support services. This interim arrangement will be under existing LTPA contract terms. The Group is confident of successfully concluding the repricing discussions within this twelve month timeframe. As stated in the trading update on 8 February 2018, the EMEA Services division is bidding for a number of new opportunities with UK Government that will enable enhanced capability while also driving cost efficiencies. We are now the sole bidder negotiating with the UK MOD regarding the Engineering Delivery Partner programme which we will deliver in partnership with Atkins and BMT. QinetiQ's preliminary results for the full year ending 31 March 2018 will be announced on the 24 May 2018.

Still suppressed share price though. If you can be patient I think it is a reasonable buy at today's 209p. Good market position secure market.

Looking like share price has bottomed for now. Blackrock appear to only hold 0.5% now. £3 by Xmas?

Blackrock now below 5% from 5.69%. Lets hope today's sales are from the 1.09% Short position that they have built up. Will know tomorrow.

With cash pile and pension surplus must be attractive to institutions in current markets

Seems a reassuring TS - not only that, they have gone to a pension surplus saving £10.5M pa in deficit payments from Mar 18.

The price fall since May of last year is pretty staggering. This is a quality company with a huge cash pile. I don't hold any but would love to buy at sub £1.80, it shouldn't get there however I don't want to risk buying too early in this market.

Eastbourne, IMHO there are 2 big worries weighing on the shares (1) UK defence budget under pressure because of Sterling fall making US purchases more expensive and (2) US budget stalemate stops spending. Just my thoughts. bb

On paper these look great value however the chart action is very negative, makes me wonder if a profit warning is coming some time over the next six months.
