Standard Life isn't a "new" position as such. It is simply a required announcement following the merger of Standard Life and Aberdeen Asset Management.

Interesting - today Standard Life announced a new position here at over 5%.

Deutsche Bank announced a similar new 5%+ position yesterday

I think you have a bargain Lurker. Short term market sentiment can be one's best ally.
I worked at what became QQ. for 35 years so know the company and it's people well. I have to admit I am biased here as I obtained around 40k share before I retired in 2003. They employ the best. Mind you, they lost some of the best too. But, as I said, I'm biased! lol.

I agree that the market can be crazy - but who am I to complain at buying this great defensive company on a p/e of 13, with a well-covered dividend of 2.5% at the year low price of 232-3...it's time to fill up!
