22/10/2009 11:15 | thanks . waiting for... | milton8
22/10/2009 11:00 | With redundancies and rumoured projected site disposals they will become leaner and meaner but we need to hear of contracts awarded and exciting R&D. They have abilities in areas such as nanomaterials but need customers and contracts for their expertise. Their US investments are believed to be o.k. but we have seen BA. lose a very important contract over there. Nothing can be taken for granted. Interims at the end of November. z | zeppo
22/10/2009 08:29 | now share price 132-133p. maybe buy? any idea ? please comm... | milton8
19/10/2009 19:25 | Dismal performance. There is a hangover of former civil servants trying to adapt to competitive and difficult defence market conditions. At worst will BA., Ultra or some US defence company get involved? Still a long term holder hoping for another increase in the well covered divi when the Interim results come out in late November. z | zeppo
19/10/2009 15:34 | And still it drops! is there no bottom for this one? | mackie
07/10/2009 04:17 | Sales in the failing usa priced in the failing dollar? | davidhp
06/10/2009 09:06 | Any idea why such a relatively severe drop? | themba
30/9/2009 11:00 | Looks to me like it is now going to stay above 140. What The Brokers Say Strong Buy 5 Buy 1 Neutral 0 Sell 1 Strong Sell 0 Total 7 | wad collector
29/9/2009 16:11 | looking trade line, support at 130p area. (today HSBC say. downgrade price from 220p to 190p ; -30p so at last week, high is 145p, so will drop to 145*85%= 132p is fair price. | jdung
29/9/2009 12:12 | I was thinking about BAE making an offer too. Only reason I popped in here. Looks like wadcollector is thinking on the same lines. AFAIK the scanning tech, modular robots and comms would fit in with the growing drones segment of BAE but not sure about the airport and customs side nor the asset management division. It's too much like something Serco would be interested in. Any ideas? | davidhp
21/9/2009 10:00 | Good point- I couldn't remember what happened about their holding. Lord Drayson (Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Defence Procurement), Ministry of Defence; Labour) My Lords, we retain a golden share in QinetiQ, which gives us the opportunity to veto any transactions that we do not regard as being consistent with the British interest. My Lords, it is not possible to give an absolute assurance, but we have absolutely no intention of relinquishing our golden share in QinetiQ. The question of using the golden share would presumably depend on whether a potential bidder was viewed as having undesirable connections or not. | wad collector
21/9/2009 09:21 | UK govt has only one share remaining in QQ surely, so no benefit to them? | mw
20/9/2009 20:15 | Damanko , do you seriously believe that this HMG wouldn't approve a takeover if it allowed them to raise a few quid? This lot would sell their sisters if they thought they might get voted back in. I have wondered for a while if BAE would see this as a useful acquisition , though they might have to hive off a few bits.No harm in hoping anyway... | wad collector
19/9/2009 15:41 | Took a tough decision this week as it pulled back a bit and didn't cross 147 as I had hoped...... While recognising there is significant long-term value in the Qinetiq IP, I sold and re-invested proceeds in Antisoma (ASM) which has started to move after the results on Monday. Good luck to all QQ shareholders.......I expect I will return to this again in the future. | dynamic2005
17/9/2009 13:08 | wad, I think the UK Govt may have some kind of (the old fashioned) golden share to prevent that for a while, or has that expired? Still see QQ. as a decent long term punt, especially if large defence cuts by the next government are made. Though ironically my other defence stock - BAE - will suffer a lot more. | damanko
17/9/2009 13:00 | Stubborn this one.Too much uncertainty. But not a holding I lose sleep over-just as long as no-one sees the low price as a takeover opportunity. | wad collector
09/9/2009 20:14 | Looking better by the day......slowly but surely edging up......daily volume significantly higher than average......hopeful | dynamic2005
04/9/2009 08:39 | Looks like 140 is being held as dividend is paid......and having reinvested it would be great timing if it now starts to climb back up through the 147 level in the coming days/weeks as that resistance will need to be broken through to make any significant progress in the coming months. Good luck. | dynamic2005
28/8/2009 14:08 | Looks like we may get the opportunity to re-invest the dividends being paid next week around the 140 level....will be happy to see it stay at this level until I have bought the next tranche.....and then it can take off and get back up where it belongs :) | dynamic2005
24/8/2009 10:40 | yep all good news, onwards on up here I think, just wish i had bought a few more with my first bargain ... :@) | jab118
24/8/2009 07:21 | More good news....hopefully it will help the share price return back up where it belongs.... QinetiQ Group PLC, a leading international provider of technology-based services and solutions, has secured a AUS$23m contract from the Australian Department of Defence for TALON robots and replacement parts to support Australian Defence Forces deployed on operations. | dynamic2005
19/8/2009 17:01 | DTR1 sounds like essential enabling work, necessary to allow the intended main contract timescales to occur. I did see somewhere that the full contract won't be let until after "Main Gate" approval - which is the last formal step to be taken by the MoD, scheduled for early next year, I think. Others may correct me | mw
19/8/2009 10:36 | Z , I share your view of IC.I shall be ignoring their sell recommendation too. Can't quite work out where this DTR1 announcement fits in with the MUCH bigger picture of the whole DTR contract. | wad collector
18/8/2009 11:04 | hi kb.. Don't get me wrong, I have been drip feeding a bit of fat in here, but ever time I think it dropping for a buy, the bloody share price takes an upsurge. Ive been keeping an eye on these for nearly a year...:@) | jab118 |
