Delaying in the hope, but probably nothing to announce.Remaining focus will be on wrapping up what's there, conservation of cash, and converting remaining stock inventories, into cash.

Hi all,

Preliminaries due tomorrow - a very short gap between notice yesterday and release.

Have they been delaying to the last minute, in the hope of announcing receipt of award funds ? Little share price activity doesn't give a hint....

Management should be applying the finishing touches to the MBO if they're not going to wind this up... They need the settlement money, which presumably is being delayed by the other party for as long as possible?

Hi meijiman,

PVCS's major shareholders are
Schroder Investment Management Limited 24,006,303 14.98
Iain Dorrity 17,099,371 10.67
Barry Garrard 16,108,323 10.05
Hawkwood Capital 12,910,815 8.06
Stuart Oldham 10,276,442 6.41
Aldebaran Capital LLC 6,450,787 4.02
Goldman Sachs International 5,746,962 3.59
Graham Young 5,398,888 3.37
Hargreaves Lansdown Asset Mgt 5,030,799 3.14

Dorrity is CEO, together with the other individuals (connected ?), speaking for 30.4% of the co or roughly £ 9.5m worth. Of these, only Dorrity is picking up a salary, admittedly a rather fat £ 585 K.
You'd expect everyone else - plus the II's - to be agitating for wind-up and return/release of their capital.

Yes the whole idea here is to pay the management for as long as possible. Could well imagine those salary cheques will be rolling in in a year's time.

As a long term holder I am pretty much done in terms of waiting.
I am disappointed that they have not said anything since the arbitration award.
I am assuming we will get a wind up statement in a few weeks.
Management really have milked this gravy train for longer than I ever would have imagined but it really is time to "call time" so to speak.

Hi zcaprd7,

Well, with some 3 weeks to go to results, a 0.5p uptick per day would suit me...

Hi zcaprd7,

Hawkwood's last move appears to have been a slight reduction in holding, from 8.1% to 7.9%, with 12.66M shares.

Their write-up includes ....Based in London Belgravia, Hawkwood Capital is a boutique fund manager owned and operated by its partners. It was founded in 2005 and manages five specialist funds with approximately US$150m under management. The funds target niche areas in under-researched small cap value stocks. Our fund managers have a very significant portion of their own net worth invested in the funds and have contributed approximately 30% of the assets under management. Strong focus on investment projects in Africa, in particular DRC and Zambia. Hawkwood Deep Value Fund is a long-only fund that focuses on global public equities trading at a discount to liquidation value. Suitable for 'sophisticated' investors (mainly HNWs and family offices) keen on alternative investments coupled with a strong capital preservation strategy.

Suggests that they have 'skin in the game', whether vultures or not.

Hi yasX,

You should get off your hobby-horse, my friend.

An unbiased reader would see that my post was in response to zcaprd7's request for possible 'activists' re PVCS.

Boros has a holding in PVCS and MIGHT be personally motivated (because of a coincidental forthcoming appearance at - yes - Mello ) to try and move things along at PVCS. He has a reputation as a successful investor to maintain, after all.

Stredder is also a successful investor (CRAW notwithstanding) and - I believe - a director at ShareSoc, which purports to be an activist representative of private investors.

Your personal animus has - once again ? - blinded you to a disinterested attempt to answer/help a fellow PI.

May your own investment record - over all - be at least as good as Boros' and Stredder's !

ExTrader,

You really need to cease plugging Carmensfella and Mello at every opportunity. You have been at it for years, and your only favourable outcome was Crawshaw (but that too fell by the wayside).

I just knew when you appeared on here that you would mention Mello. Somehow you would bring it up even though it bears nil relevance. There you are, at it again - if readers want to soak up dross from companies presenting at Mello or Proactive or similar guff before the presenters likely issue equity, then go for it. The rest should just undertake more robust research themselves.

Hi zcaprd7,

Not sure whether he'd describe himself as an 'activist' , but Leon Boros, the self-styled ISA millionaire mentioned PVCS (' an atypical holding') in an interview a while back : he said he bought on the expectation of a favourable court judgement.

hxxp://www.piworld.co.uk/2017/11/08/leon-boros-on-achieving-exceptional-investment-returns

He's appearing at Mello 2018 late April.

He might be open to 'chasing' the Company for a result before then....

David Stredder a.k.a. carmensfella - the Mello organiser - may also be a useful contact (don't know whether he has a holding).

Solar wafer prices have been falling in Price in recent weeks. I asume that overall this is helpful to PVCS.
