PVCS were always amongst the lowest quartile in the industry. As long as polysilicon prices are low i'd expect they continue to be which is why they always felt they could weather the storm. kudos to them for lasting so long. many higher profile names went under during that time and didn't deliver as much reward for shareholders

Hi Salpara, you mention that solar wafer prices are still below cost of production. You may well be right, but do you have any concrete info regarding PVCS's cost of production?

If they said "f off" (which they are entitled to) then they run the risk of appearing to act in an unreasonable behaviour in the eyes of the judge, so it's prudent to at least pretend you are happy to mediate. The fact the other crowd are trying it on, suggests its in the bag and we will have to wait patiently...

I really do fail to understand why they are messing around here and why the company they are claiming from seem to be able to unilaterally and seemingly indefinitely delay the arbitration case.
I am still holding and have added to my position recently on the basis that sooner....or is that later! value will appear.
Solar wafer prices are still below cost of production so I still stand by my argument that the business should be wound up.

Hmm. I suppose the mediation hasn't worked out, when can we get the real court action. March wasn't it?

The last two weeks polysilicaon prices are up a per cent or so; wafer prices down a per cent or so.

As i mentioned in 6225 it could easily move from 15p to 30p due to lack of resistance on the chart

although it's 'melting up' rather than gapping up

Well, I have added at over 20p but I built my original stake at 9.5p which has been the saving grace for my otherwise pretty poor portfolio this year.
I don't expect them to even get back to profitability on operations in the foreseeable future. I am only here for the customer payout.
I get the feeling that the management of PVCS are trying to do a deal whereby they will resume supplying the customer but obviously at a hefty premium to the spot price so that the customer can effectively reimburse PVCS over a number of years as opposed to having to come up with say 40M Euro in a single hit.
I would much rather that they get the cash in a lump sum and then liquidate the business as I would imagine that there would be at least 50p per share after all closing down costs given the current cash held and the compensation.
One way or the other we must be in the end game now so I will continue to accumulate

Both the sights for this week's update -16th Nov - report flattish prices, slight falls or slight rises.

Hi Choccywoccy, yeah, I saw pvinsights was giving "better" results, but I've been giving the data from another site, so continued with that series.

Initially, I thought the flat results were merely a lack of update, but not so. They use a different selection of manufacturers and methododlogy to pvinsights. So there will usually be differences between them on a weekly basis. However, over two months, Both series show very marked rises in wafer prices, with polysilicon prices creeping up too. Good!

CJohn, this site (hxxp://pvinsights.com/) shows prices continuing to rise. One of the other sites I regularly look at doesn't seem to have updated prices, they all look flat which seems unlikely. Looks to me as if recovery continuing (albeit after a desperate fall earlier in the year).
