20/7/2020 10:02 | Well nothing like sweeping generalisations to right off a whole profession .There are shysters in every walk of life and there is a general momentum to bring in more regulations Quite simple really choose your agent with care If one thing in life teaches you pay cheap, pay twice .A good agent will always earn their fee and if they are unable to negotiate a good fee for themselves unlikely to negotiate a good price for your house Bricks rental business has failed. Heavily criticised on social media they have just 283 instructions nationwide. Foxtons have more instructions in 3 individual offices Canary Wharf 316 Marylebone 294 and Sloane Square 287 Time to get shot of the rental side. Having said that a good week on fresh instructions on the sales side | hillofwad
17/7/2020 21:25 | Actually that's a good point, people are conditioned to think the first thing they must do is call a traditional when placing their property for sale. However traditionals have long had a bad reputation and I feel vendors are waking up.Traditionals annoy me, they go around to recently widowed Betty's house for example and basically rip her off with 2+% fees, fully in the knowledge that they will drop to 1% if asked, until the high St agents wake up and charge a flat fee they will lose out to hybrids.High St agents are scum, the cold calling hoover sellers, encyclopedia sellers and double glazing sellers of days past are gone, and hopefully soon the traditionals will be too. | 7rademark
17/7/2020 16:11 | Chart looks poised for a move up imo | john09
17/7/2020 15:55 | just checked chart and seems interesting . Why did this stock fall so much and perhaps because it became uncompetitive as others offer much cheaper deal to sellers . The one I once used was Turtle homes I think but it went bust as folk are indoctrinated from birth to use a high street agent and hear all the nonsense about being protected but they are just a middle man taking a handsome cut !I bit like religion I guess ! | arja
17/7/2020 10:53 | Sure reflected in current share price The question is can they push on or has a glass ceiling been reached at circa 70k instructions Particularly worrying is do they still have to maintain the high level of marketing spend just to stand still | hillofwad
17/7/2020 10:45 | Earnings only have to be better than expected at this price, barring another lockdown and with decent markets I think 100p is a realistic share price target for the short term, still risk as with anything but a decline from 400p - to today's 60p represents a balanced gamble imo | 7rademark
17/7/2020 10:37 | I keep a watching brief akin to counting sheep Its quite therapeutic !! making sure not to double count to include those being recycled Unfortunately they dont get paid twice Instruction levels in FY20 we will soon learn were down on FY19 in the UK the revenue loss only partly mitigated by the fee increase | hillofwad
17/7/2020 10:25 | It was 52p when i stated this and got slammed for it spacedust 15 Jul '20 - 11:56 - 1665 of 1684 Edit 0 1 Yes i agree. I think PB will hit 75p at some point this month or prior to results. THE chart is set for 60p plus this week or next | spacedust
17/7/2020 10:24 | Wherr are you getting these stats regarding 10%? If we have stash in thr coffers would this equate to a dividend payment ?? | spacedust
17/7/2020 08:49 | For those that believe that's a cup and handle completed on the chart, should produce a strong move up now. Zero resistance until 100p. Imo dyor and all that. | 7rademark
16/7/2020 14:20 | Well they've certainly managed to burn their way through a heck of a lot of dosh with not much to show for it. If I had £176 million in my back pocket I wouldn't spend it on this charmer. | lefrene
16/7/2020 13:51 | Purplebricks very prominent in Central Scotland. Used them myself last year and it was the smoothest and cheapest house sale l’ve ever done. My experience using them is what made me look at their shares. | scottish007
16/7/2020 11:51 | Yes agree dennis. I stipl think we will hit 75p at some point this month or next. | spacedust
16/7/2020 11:31 | Guess the main point is that deal demonstrates we are a less riskier investment proposition. Now I'm not going to bother looking at short term movements, and re-evaluate in a couple of months. D | dennisbergkamp
16/7/2020 11:14 | Id ha e expected the share price to stay 60p plus on incoming 35m cash. Perhaps a little profit taking after all its 3 bagged recently. Higher lows forming..... | spacedust
16/7/2020 09:43 | spacedust, Agreed, but most do as the sign boards are very effective at selling properties. PURP boards as a percentage of all boards are very low in my area, only 2 I know of currently. | andy
16/7/2020 09:31 | Scotland seems to be somewhere they have gained good inroads traction Maybe aligning themselves with the Scottish rugby team paid dividends London postcodes area a little disappointing (1515 instructions) and certainly an area they need to find more traction | hillofwad
16/7/2020 09:30 | Not everyone wants a sign board. Best to look online for a particular postcode and see which agents has the most. Purple veicks are always there with 2 or 3 instructions in the london areas | spacedust
16/7/2020 08:55 | Should add another 11p from yesterdsys 55p close. So 66p fair value now | spacedust
16/7/2020 07:41 | Fair play to PURP, this will give them an increased cash balance in times of uncertainty. Their next decision to make is what they do with the cash, do they leave it in the bank? Or reinvest it? At the end of the day if they do leave it in the bank they are not making their capital work for them, instead they will be just be getting hammered by inflation | 1giraffetrader
16/7/2020 03:39 | The problem is Canada is now an outlier now they have closed USA .Good price especially as the world is still in lockdown Back in Blighty ,wednesday was a good day for fresh listings .The highest number for sometime .Getting right back up to speed . Noticeable that Scottish and Welsh properties appearing in greater numbers .It's all looking pretty rocketships here with all the moons aligning Whilst the rest of their peer group has gone cap in hand to the banks Bricks have gone liquid. Opportunity knocks where cash is king I can see Axel now making a move for OTMP which would fit nicely into their stable Now a reasonable agents inventory has been built up the addition of Bricks as a new client would set the traffic flows spinnning . | hillofwad
15/7/2020 17:43 | Yes useful £35 million incoming. Funnily enough I thought that was the one foreign venture they would have done well at, as thy bought an established business. | andy |
