Swings and roundabouts - there was also talk of strong sales growth and new markets opening up. As I've said here before we should all be trying the products and making up our own minds.

SP was over 146 for a second there - was beginning to get excited. Seems to be making slow and steady progress and has broken 120p at last. If believe charting then resistance looks to be at 20p increments so we need to keep above 140p now to move on.

just back from waitrose in frimley

"Green Canderel" has STEVIA in bold letters and acknoledges "Stevia Pure Circle" as Trade Mark as does "PureVia" PV manufactured by Whole Earth Sweetener Co

"TrueVia" acknowledges Stevia as content but no mention of PURE.

No mention of Hermasetas containing stevia or on Sweetex at co-op

all this is probably small but must await bulk sales to sweet drinks and large bakers

some of the old chemical sweetener brands have been reborn through stevia. Hermesetas is the only one I remember, for the moment

S

do you have the brand names at waitrose?

It has now appeared in a wide range of forms, prices and and brands amongst the sweeteners in the local Waitrose. I have also bought it in liquid form from Amazon:1 drop = 1 teaspoon of sugar, but that one was grossly overstated. More like :3 drops = 1 teaspoon.

On the shelves it comes as 100% stevia in the very tiniest of tablets. It also comes mixed into sugar, white or brown. Nothing under £3. I am sure the price will crack
I wonder if this supermarket launch is responsible for the exceptional share price surge?

no doubt some will appear. the sample just arrived through the post box. i have tried it but as i gave up sugar years ago and replaced it with saccharin and am now a saccharin addict i found it sweet but missed my saccharin. it needs someone who used sugar to try it and give an opinion . i found it acceptable but missed the saccharin taste im now used to. there are obviously a lot more stevia products being launched.

We need to get it into fizzy drinks THEN it'll take off! Was the sample unexpected or something you requested? Have you tried it?

cnx - it's an ingredient in someone else's product but if it becomes a high profile, desirable ingredient then we may see prominent Stevia logos on products. I get the impression that's what Pure is aiming for. So far only managed to find bags of sugar & Stevia...

up 7p (6.2%)today, thus 25P in 9 days. That is a strong enough price upside to constitute a re-rating in progress. This the time of year when large food/drinks groups place contracts for a year's supply of anything they need.

Not a field I know anything about, but as a diabetic stevia looks like a range of products the world is impatiently waiting for, once it is clearly better for us than the existing carcinogenically tainted table top substitutes.

This is the time of year when the big drinks companies tie up their annual contracts. The sharp share 35% price rise during February- from 87p- 118p on very small volume- suggests that one or two contract stories have leaked.

Just 3p more on the price and we have a significant break out from a year ago. In April 2010 the share price reached a high of 305p before succumbing to the many difficulties of a start up. In a day or two we shall see whether PURE is set to recover fully - in which case it will more than treble from its recent low
