competition will raise awareness of the product generally and thus expand the total amarket for Reb A...whoever supplies it.

foodcritic - as ever, many thanks. I love the translation: " According to the experts of "Emerging Markets Investor" can investors with the share of PureCircle to view two to three years to make a fortune. (Ausgabe 05 vom 09.03.2009) (10.03.2009/ac/a/a) (Issue 05 of 09.03.2009) (10.03.2009/ac/a/a)" Well....nice to see a bit of positive publicity but now we need some contracts! S

I have looked at GLG...dont think they are in the same league as PURE.Profits appear far away, atleast that was the situation when I looked at them 3 months ago.But with the market develping fast you never know what they can achieve...

Nurdin - I agree competition is a healthy thing. Although there maybe a number of winners here. I am thinking of buying some GLG but don't really like the currency risk.

Competition in this market is a healthy thing. It raises the profile of the zero-calori sweetners without Pure having to spend millions on marketing. The winner in the race will of course be the company which has a first mover advantage...which is Pure Circle.

The market for Reb-A based drinks is now moving full steam ahead what with virtually all the vendors now jumping on the band wagon. The real boost however will come when a major food manufacturer incorporates the calori-free sweetner into its products.Heinz,Nestle and kellogs comes to mind.I understand Pure are in discussion with most of the majors currently....expect announcement soon

Hi RCT, yes contract was extended to mid 2010, see links. http://www.investegate.co.uk/Article.aspx?id=20080107123400NQ914 http://www.investegate.co.uk/Article.aspx?id=200801070701131735L

Thanks for that, Foodcritic. Excuse my ignorance, not really researched this properly yet, but does PURE still have a supply agreement with Cargill? Cambium's header post shows that there was one to mid 2008 and that discussions were ongoing for an extension.
