goldrush: New appointee implication is fascinating.New initiatives, probably working on expanding our footprint etc.....especially when we are generating cash flow......rather than fattening us up for takeover why not more an emphasis on protecting us and getting the share price up.....interesting times IMHO
11_percent: As you say, "for what it is worth". Peel Hunt today reaffirms its buy investment rating on Pure Wafer PLC (LON:PUR) and raised its price target to 115p (from 89p). hTTps://
ginko3: . . and yet again, stock options at a very unchallenging exercise price - today's price; so all he has to do is to help ensure the company doesn't go backwards over the next 5 years!! "As part of his compensation, Mr. Haubrich has been granted incentive stock options to purchase 400,000 common shares of the Company. The options are exercisable on or before January 1, 2026 at a price of $2.60 per common share, and were granted in accordance with the Company's Stock Option Plan."
ginko3: The news has been known for quite some time and was already priced into the share price. Many inpatient PIs will now be selling to try and chase the next pot of gold so this fall will only be short-lived as shares flow from the impatient to the patient.
mufprat: Question on the other thread regarding the mechanics of the GDXJ ETF.Just been through this with GGP and must admit I don't have a full understanding of how the fund will buy the shares.Back in September when GGP was admitted there was endless talk as to whether the fund would front run the market by buying pre implementation date or purchasing on that date (in this case Friday 18 Dec). However the purchase was achieved, an order for approx 135M shares was reported after the close and at a premium to the closing price. It all got a bit volatile as the MMS filled the order. Incidentally GGP (and other sticks) will be going through the same thing again as the fund us rebalanced.Apologies for not being more definitive.
mufprat: That's a really good point. You're right the GDXJ has been rebalanced to include PUR however I don't think if is implemented until Friday this week. Which means the fund will purchase the shares then, at whatever the share price happens to be on the day.Need to confirm how this works but GGP were included a few months ago and it certainly created a significant uplift in the share price
robertstronghand: Apparently Pur was added to the GDXJ on Friday hence the share price rise. So we should still have the jump when production is announced to come.
drradcliffe: I'd be really surprised by a delay. Their home page features a countdown to production... This seems to be priced against Pure's investment base case. Which is 1M oz(9g/t) RESERVES and a 12 year mine life, with a pre-tax NPV of $652M based on a $1600 gold price. To me Pure is really a "restart" of the existing Madsen mine, which had previously been mothballed when metal prices were much lower. So primarily it's a play on increasing metal prices and unrealised potential that had been overlooked by the previous operators (for whatever reason). The part of Canada it is in is highly productive - the grades are astonishing - and much higher than any other recently announced drill results by any other London listed miner. This is also one of safest investment jurisdictions in the World - unlike anywhere in Africa or China. Importantly the resource is open to depth. The trends are analogous with the surrounding mines which operate at double the depth. This is one of the main reasons to invest here. Note: nearby Red Lake Mine/ Newmont 77.1 g/t annualised mill processing grade in 2004; Fosterville 24.9 g/t annualised mill processing grade in 2018. This illustrates what the grades could be at Pure using comparison to nearby mines on the same geology. The base case doesn't reflect the opportunity, consequently the share price is going to sit where it is until (a)the company proves itself to be a reliable cash generator or(b) metal prices change or (c) there is resource upgrade + mine life upgrade. Or, all of these together. Think of this being a bit like investing in an early stage "Amazon" of the gold mining industry. It is obviously priced at the quality end of the investment spectrum. Over time it will perform in terms of capital growth and dividends. Rather like Kirkland Lake. The longish timescale isn't going to suit everyone. Takeover? I'm not sure why the existing major investors and management would encourage a takeover at this stage when so much of the potential is not reflected in the share price.
mufprat: With a share price of greater than 10p PUR will escape the notice of the typical ADVFN rainbow chaser, so no expectations or even desire of a spike in the share price IIs will provide solid support to what will become a steady increase in the market cap. A great long term portfolio hold.
farukequity: I have been adding to my position over the past 2 months and this is now my biggest holding by far. Based on peer group valuations, this company is undervalued still after the recent rise AND this is also the perfect time for gold overall, which should continue to put a rocket under the share price.PUR is in the right place at the right time and I see this as early days of a legendary share price run, which will end up with these guys becoming a multi-billion dollar company. My personal target is 175p by year end when they are pouring gold and then 300+ mid next year when they start drilling & expanding their ultra-high grade zone.
