22/12/2018 21:04 | Along with almost everything else.
Armageddon deja vu. again.
Happy Xmas.
Give peace a chance. | eeza
22/12/2018 13:02 | Might be worth keeping in mind with Pru, if we are entering a bear market
here this may be hit very hard indeed. | essentialinvestor
21/12/2018 19:23 | Thank you all. | action
21/12/2018 19:00 | Yup, I had a few. Not sure this is the time to bet the farm, full stop. | essentialinvestor
21/12/2018 17:29 | Tempted for a few this pm @ 1364. As suggested above, the split next year will hopefully unlock value. Worth a punt but not the farm... | shalder
21/12/2018 16:10 | Anyone buying here ? | action
06/12/2018 19:27 | I broke my rule of not buying anything else until after mondays brexit implosion, but i couldn’t resist at 1390, insane. H1 next year this will be split into 2 unlocking serious value. Just got to keep the emotions away and continue to add, sum-of-the -parts without a bid premium somewhere between £21-£29 unless of course the world implodes... | rimau1
06/12/2018 11:46 | Thanks, appreciated.
I'm adding in very small lots at intervals, I'm not even up to 1,000 shares yet. | essentialinvestor
06/12/2018 11:24 | ES
Support at 1495p. But If memory serves me right the uptrend started around 1250p+. | action
06/12/2018 09:45 | Thanks Essential. Seems like a buying opportunity for the long term. | shieldbug
06/12/2018 09:28 | Financials in a falling market tend to underperform. | essentialinvestor
06/12/2018 09:21 | Anyone got any idea about the cause of today's price drop? Is this sentiment driven or is something happening with the company? | shieldbug
06/12/2018 09:15 | That would be most appreciated )
Depending on Asian markets and the UKX. | essentialinvestor
06/12/2018 09:14 | could be looking at 1325p | action
14/11/2018 08:09 | These look really good numbers, key for me is further growth in Asia Life and APE since half year reporting with Asia strong overall momentum continues. Also good to see US APE returning to growth, M&G suffered net outflows but appears to be mainly due to a single low margin redemption. Expecting a rerate here and looking forward to a post demerger sum of parts significantly higher than today. | rimau1
14/11/2018 07:25 | Probably one of the best FTSE 100 stocks to buy and hold for the next 5-10 years. Not expensive for the growth rate. | chillpill
24/10/2018 09:01 | Well we do not have long to wait for an indication of how Asia is performing.
There is a forum in Singapore on the 14/15th November which in past years has been an update on 3rd Quarter Trading.
I notice that the Brokers enthusiasm for the shares are undiminished. | churchill2
24/10/2018 06:07 | Rapid bounce back from yesterday's lows, would like an opportunity to add lower.
Short term a lot depends on where markets go from here. Longer term there is a lot to like,
all be it PRU may get hit hard when the bull market finally rolls over. | essentialinvestor
24/10/2018 05:09 | The slide in PRU has been pretty dramatic along with LGEN, SLA and Av all of which are under pressure, some due to self inflicted issues. I think PRU remain the pick of the bunch with their strong position in Asia, the Trump trade war currently working against them, but is long term the source of growth. Current share price puts PRU on a forward PE of 10.5 (Adj) and 11.6 (Statutory) which implies minimal long term growth (2-4%). Well maybe, but EPS forecasts for 2019/20 are to grow 11-16% in next couple of years. Current gloom may cause some downgrade, but the population growth is Asia and demographics in China suggest current PE is more than pricing in bad news as markets often do. Sterling could bounce if the Brexit agreement turns out not to be a suicide pact after all and that would hit earnings translation and share price (if sterling is your thing).
This is one of my bigger holdings but when the falling knife gets stuck in something I will be tempted to add.

20/10/2018 22:34 | Going to get very close to 52p towards the end of the year.
Drip drip like a slow leak. | tradejunkie2
18/10/2018 14:44 | If emerging markets were to continue their recent sell off,
there might be a nice opportunity to add some PRU lower down,
ahead of the demerger. May not happen. | essentialinvestor
18/10/2018 08:03 | Thanks for comment, churchill. By the way, Aviva and L&G share prices are also underperforming, particularly Aviva for well known reasons. Nevertheless, Prudential has its restructuring next year to look forward to, plus continued strong growth in Asia. What a company Pru would have been if its management had been allowed to acquire AIA some years ago...shareholders lacked balls at the time to create a true global champion with a UK listing. | chasbas
17/10/2018 14:06 | Lack of confidence.
If you are confident in the future whether you are Chinese, British or American you make decisions to buy a life insurance contract, annuity or unit trust.
At the moment we have trade wars, Brexit, money coming out of drooping share prices etc. so its not hard to see why the odds ate stacked against a company like the Pru.
The share price being so weak suggests the worst is not over reflected in Wall Street up 600 points yesterday had little or no effect here today.
Do not despair though Prudential are financially strong with good management that should see us through this difficult period. | churchill2
16/10/2018 19:14 | Share price down 14% over 1 year! Why so weak? | chasbas
16/10/2018 11:56 | Added a small amount. | essentialinvestor
