02/3/2010 09:25 | Jon827, why go long? Right issue = massive dilution. This has one way to go... | smurfy2001
02/3/2010 09:22 | PRU does not stand a chance against the Asian INSURANCE giants............ PRU is more expensive......... | binladin
02/3/2010 09:19 | could go to 100p................ | binladin
02/3/2010 09:13 | Brave to go against the trend, good luck Jon. One major problem with the markets is that few are investing strategically, probably because many see the mirage of a 'double dip' on the horizon. If so, the future value of PRU in two or three years time, is presently of no interest at all. | leedskier
02/3/2010 09:10 | Hi Alanrex, no not a serious buyer just looking to scalp a few points :-) | jon827
02/3/2010 09:05 | had a punt at 500 | jon827
02/3/2010 09:03 | Morning Leeds, Im thinking support could be a 465 but that's a fair ways away, might get a few point bounce from 500 | jon827
02/3/2010 09:02 | jon, id consider it but the danger is that these could be taken down to 450-460p quite quickly if they fall through 500p. i think 500p is an important barrier but if you were a serious size buyer i think they would wait post the impact of sterling, post the level of interests from existing holders became known post the danger of asian market implosion etc thats all imo dyor | alanrex
02/3/2010 08:59 | Yesterday I placed a modest PUT option, expiry June, but I also bought AV. at the same time, so it is just a pair trade. I am not bothered in direction it takes. Experience of rights issues in current turbulent times, makes me think, however, that at some stage there will be a long leg down. The best to buy for those looking for a long term investment maybe during the first two or three days either after it goes ex rights, or after the new shares are listed, depending on how the market feels about it. | leedskier
02/3/2010 08:57 | Anyone looking for a quick long at 500? | jon827
02/3/2010 08:54 | Alanrex, no way! In fact most of the usual suspects haven't even turned up yet. | grahamite2
02/3/2010 08:52 | careful.. im guessing you're short? | alanrex
02/3/2010 08:51 | what a shorting jamboree this will be throughout the rights issue. this will fall to below 10 billion cap during this lot.(15 billion yesterday) and if china wobbles even more. hold tight this will be fun. you aint seen nothin' yet. | careful
02/3/2010 08:42 | I hope you're not referring to me! | alanrex
02/3/2010 08:34 | We now have the usual johnny come latelys trying to talk this down but there has to be some reason the major players haven't already taken it down further. You would expect it to be below £5 but it isn't. I don't know what's going on and have even taken these off my watchlist until the dust settles. | grahamite2
02/3/2010 08:31 | overpaid!!!!!!!!!!!! They could have developed the business them selves.. dividend unlikely for the future.........no cash left.... as the pound falls the cost will be a lot more............ | binladin
02/3/2010 08:27 | i surprised more people havent gone short on this one.. any shorters here? | alanrex
02/3/2010 08:25 | this is a snake trying to swallow an elephant............ | binladin
02/3/2010 08:25 | glad i sold my holding these are going to fall below 350p | ludlow3
02/3/2010 08:24 | have you gone short? | alanrex
02/3/2010 08:23 | 500p by 12pm.......... | binladin
02/3/2010 08:08 | Im sure the asian market will suffer a setback but the long term trend is clear. The dangers are in the price, the size of the deal and the execution risk plus the sterling falls. Im a little surprised that these havent come closer to £5 yet.. all imo dyor | alanrex
02/3/2010 07:50 | there is a precident....rbs buying abn ambro!....why not just plod along doing well....tweaking your business and getting better.....who says the asian market won't implode...its all a risk imo from a come that's supposed to be prudential | taffee
02/3/2010 07:45 | GEC-Marconi? | p@ |
