Are the shorters back ? The share price is gently tumbling ; another few pence down to 2035 and I will have some more. These have consistently outperformed most of my portfolio over the last decade or so...

With these results I'm looking for a climb to recent highs.

-- First half pre-tax profit before exceptional restructuring cost up 23.0% to GBP94.1m(1) (2013: GBP76.5m).
-- Adjusted earnings per share up 24.6% to 54.2p(1) (2013: 43.5p).
-- Interim dividend per share up 10.0% to 34.1p (2013: 31.0p).

Robust funding and liquidity position
-- Group fully funded until the seasonal peak in 2017.
-- Gearing reduced to 2.9 times (2013: 3.1 times).

Back below my sell of about 2100.
I agree a "Hold" and target price of 1570 is ludicrous.
You cannot believe these people get paid to write such trash.

I do reckon that the market holds some who have always been on the short side of PFG and they may get their way for a while so will be keeping my powder dry for the time being.

Bought some more back at 2095. A £25 target still looks reasonable to me over the next year or so.

Just bought a load back at 2127p. Today's drop presumably as a response to latest payday lender loan rate capping plans.
However Prov may even be strengthened by these plans , taking out some of the worst competitors.

I calc fair value around 2336 Dec14 - so theoretically this is 60 pts from the top and has gotten ahead of itself - also top of chart channel so possible it will come off - the bkr sell note isn't slagging the co's excellent performance - more of a traders note suggesting that it has got ahead of itself & may visit the lower reaches of the channel first before returning to fair value

The exact top is indistinct and fdms are strong so not an ideal short - will watch for a bit to see if a formation occurs

Liberum said sell to 1726p last week and Cannacord said sell to 1570p in April.

So ..it is almost as if they are guessing.

I am guessing too (But not being paid for it sadly) as I put another sell order in for 2252. I am guessing a fall prior to July results , then a surge again.

A director sale of 10000 shares yesterday not really significnat given still holds 250,000.

Wad I now have to thank you for making me think!
I mused on the yield at 4% and decided that it had dropped too low.
So I sold all last Friday.
As the price rose I was a little disappointed but still felt they would drop back.
Today that decision now looks well timed!
