LOGP up 10.2% and PVR down 4.8% so far today. I wonder why? A very wild completely ignorant guess only, but how likely is a PVR bid for LOGP? It would make sense from the point of view of both companies. PVR would hold 50% of Barryroe after the farm out is completed and the shareholders in LOGP would still retain their interest in Barryroe if the deal was an all share offer.

A PVR takeover of LOGP makes sense to me. Of course an alternative is that the Chinese make a bid for LOGP.

Probably all wishful thinking on my part because I had a small top up in LOGP on Monday!! :-)

Research paper
Characteristics of pockmarks in the Norwegian Trench
Buried pockmarks and anomalies interpreted as boulders, possibly gas bubbles trapped in the substrata, were also found. The recordings bear evidence of gas or liquid migration originating from layers lying beneath the soft-clay sequence.

A large hydrocarbon gas reservoir has recently been found during exploration drilling in the immediate vicinity of the studied pockmark area. Pockmarks may be indicators of deep-lying gas or oil reservoirs and therefore prove interesting features in relation to hydrocarbon prospecting.

Agree 1cagney - especially pleased

"We are especially pleased with the results as we had
hoped to see some evidence of fluid seepage given the shallow nature of
the Newgrange prospect."

Signs of possible historical oil seeps seems a mixed blessing. Yes, if true, there's an oil source, but it also suggests a less than perfect seal in at least some places.

The top seal capacity at the Newgrange prospect was considered to be a significant risk given its thin nature (c. 500 metres of overburden) and so a seal capacity analysis, which utilized offset well data, seismic velocity data and surface mapping was undertaken and this indicated that the present day top seal could potentially contain up to a c. 350 metre hydrocarbon column.

Just hope it hasn't all seeped out.

TOR is very busy planning his usual long summer break and thinks of PVR as occasionally and then only as his cash dispenser.
