h2, I think the relevance of Homologation (road use approval in Germany and therefore EU) to ongoing talks with Transport for London is the more significant advance. There is astonishing potential in urban public transport around the world, with the right contracts. The Hong Kong / Sydney / New York / Rotterdam etc. marine side of things not insignificant, of course.

The company has already been involved in talks with major transport operators, who see the potential of the system. Its Newton electric truck was tested for 24 months in Germany, where much of the company's product development is led by its subsidiary Motor Fuel Cell GmbH.Currently, Germany has 15 hydrogen fuelling stations in operation.Plans are in place, however, to increase that number to 100 by the end of 2018 and 400 by 2023.Proton chairman John Wall said: "We are very pleased to have finished the complex process of road approval for our HyRange system."This allows the regular operation of the vehicle with our fuel cell range extender and significantly extends the operating range and on-board power of an electric truck."It also opens the door for the operation of such vehicles in commercial applications and demonstrates to customers that HyRange is ready for regular operation."Wall added that the HyRange system addressed the needs of bus and light duty vehicle manufacturers."It's a big step forward to go from prototype to the actual vehicle that's been monitored for the required period of time and been proven safe and appropriate for commercial use," he said."We're now in discussion with a number of potential customers who want to try this out in their existing fleet – those would be large fleet operators with lots of delivery vehicles."But more importantly, the range extender can be put into buses."At the moment, there is a huge amount of pressure, particularly in London, to move to cleaner transport."The total cost for operators is either the same or less and the running costs of electric vehicles are much more predictable."He added that London was not only the biggest market in the UK, but the market that led the rest of the world.Proton was now able to prove the effectiveness of its technology was considerably greater than hybrid models previously viewed as the ideal, so the potential for the technology was significant.

John Wall, Chairman of Proton, said: "This will be a milestone for us. Our know how in maritime fuel cell applications is proven and allows emission free operation. We look forward to receiving a significant order once the feasibility study is completed.

Don't put yourself down so much, leave it to others that are far more educated to do that.

Think of the practicalities of a JV/MOU between PPS and CAP, particularly in the light of TfL ... a TRIBRID running pure fuel cell inside the M25 switching to CAP outside much cheapness effendi! ;-)

Good find Blueboy but no mention of the range extender so I would take it that it is not fitted to these vehicles.

Shame though.

Hi Dash

Very limited on shares availability so just a few buyers can really drive the price up!

The purchase of PowerS & the Siemens contract could be massive as folks realise the market place for this technology could be massive (solar power storage for re-use when the sun goes in, rather than purchase from the grid at that point!!!!!).

Rumours of iminent contracts with London Buses for the electric vehicle fuel cell range extenders and further progress with Smiths in the US.

This company could be massive if it or part of it comes off but it is still under the radar to some extent although it was mentioned in Money Week the week before last.

Please can anyone tell me why the share price is suddenly going ballistic? Or any theories?

The last thing I can remember is an RNS on the new solar battery storage product, but the share price didn't seem to respond significantly to the news at the time...

Thanks in advance.

what I think is an irrelevance as to what the share price will do over the next 8 weeks. I tend to think longer term than that

bit of a daft comment to make. Highest share price for 4 years and 300% gain from recent lows.
