Prospex is an oil and gas investment vehicle with investments in Romania, Poland and, as of this morning, Italy. It has raised £1.6m at 0.43p which it is using to acquire a 17% interest in the Podere Gallina License in Italy, with some leftover for working capital. €1.15m of funds raised will be used to fund 34% of the first well called Podere Maiar-1d (i.e. a 2:1 'promote' where Prospex funds 34% in return for 17% in the license). Following the Acquisition, the interests in the Permit will be PVE 63%, United 20% and Prospex 17%.

The Maiar-1d well will drill the Selva Field, targeting 17bcf of up-dip gas reserves left behind from a previous operation (shut-in in 1984). Drilling is due to start this month – planned spud date 14th November.

This acquisition is positive both for near term newsflow and existing reserves at Selva, but also for the potential of the wider license area. In particular, management highlights the East Selva, Fondo Perino and Cembalina prospects.

We have our valuation under review until we have more information on the economics of the Maiar-1d well, however we maintain a Speculative Buy. - Read the full report

Prefer UOG to be honest bobby1904 as the ex Tullow Oil boys at UOG no doubt have some other MEGA deals on the go!

Having said that if you prefer a bit of diversification then have both PXOG & UOG
