Their sales still incessantly falling - down 16% against last year and they have now declined by 43% in H1 compared to 3 years ago when they undertook their IPO. Until, and unless, this trend can be reveresed the shareprice will continue to slide - now down 92.5% since their IPO in 2010.

There is a risk that that they will be burning through the cash, as business is not currently cash generative, or resistant to further upheavals in the sector.

That is why the recent announcement was well recieved, ie its creditors saw the company worthy of giving it credit

Interesting reaction to yesterday's news.

It's clearly positive - but given the previous facility was unused and they've got over £10m in the bank, does it justify the 13% uplift?

What am I missing?

Not complaining however - nice to see some blue ink on this for a change!

A bit of buying this week. I've seen this before just before it has been tipped.

I don't know if I would ever follow a buy tip on PRW again having only seen it collapse shortly after everyone of them.

Hi Masurenguy, what exactly is ATCL? I'm sure it's not Air Tanzania Company Limited but I'm racking my brains to work out exactly what it is? Please advise.

Another large sale of 1mln shares today at 12.75p and I would suggest that the share price isn't going anywhere until this selling has finished.

Hi Rohkap-with a 2mln share sale at 12p on friday, I think we can safely assume there's an institutional seller around.

Chart doesn't look good-getting battered!
Aberforth have increased their stake to 11%. Still think its cheap as chips although cheap will probably get cheaper in this market.

Patrick just remember that sometimes Institutional Investors as sellers of a stock for absolutely no other reason than a low share price or low market capitalisation even if the stock concerned is crazily undervalued.

Thanks for your comments about the Value thread which I'm shortly closing down.

Hi Patrick, thanks very much, you know I'm watching quite a few shares and waiting patiently for them to drop to levels where I would buy. I won't overpay as I'd rather wait for the perfect (fat) pitch. If you the share price shoots up and I miss it then so be it. I've neither made nor lost money. I want everything in my favour before I'll commit.I completely refused to pay 15p here and I see significant downside risk of around 40/50%.

Hi RM,

Is PRW a share that you are watching but waiting for better value to emerge ???

Well done on the good work you do on your Value thread by the way..

Agreed Knigel but in the absence of any news the share price is being driven by sentiment.

Agreed Knigel charts have their limitations.Although they can become self-fulfilling prophecy.

So all options still on the table! Charts are fine - but cannot factor in any new developments ie. a further profits warning, a placing, an upturn in trading or a bid..

Technical analysis theory says we traded in a range between 20p and 25p from July to October 2012 then broke through 20p so we should have expected a 5p drop to 20p which came, so establishing a new trading range between 15p and 20p. In January 2013 through the top end of that range thereby setting a new trading range between 20p and 25p.In Feb we're back down through support of 20p, thereby forming a new trading range of 15p to 20p. Now we're at the level of previous support, now resistance at 15p so the theory says we can expect 10p although some Techanical Analysts might interpret this trading action to be break of the year long trading range between 15p and 25p thereby giving a target of 5p.

You have to wonder whether the latest share price move is merely extending the 15p/25p trading range or a "suckers rally" sucking in buying before going much lower. We're broken into new low ground which is obviously a bad sign. It's not unusual for a share price to rise and hit the previous support (and now resistance) level before going lower. There's a whole load of Investors that have bought over the last year in the wake of the profits warning so it might be difficult for the share price to make progress from current levels into that "overhead supply" Are Investors going to sell out at breakeven or add further? I think trading volume will be the key determinant.Watching with interest.

A bit of buying after the year low. Hopefully it is a city scribbler who is going to tip it.

I think it looks very cheap at these sorts of levels given the asset backing on the balance sheet. Hopefully they can remain cash generative during the tricky transition years while they try to build up a meaningful software business and then they can start to post some decent earnings growth.

The one thing I really dont like is the amount of management consultant-esque waffle when it comes to describing their products. They dont believe in calling a spade a spade!

Promethean bouncing around a bit.Second day of rises. The last time I saw this was a run up to a stock tip.It was around 60p at the time.So it wasnt a very good tip.

Basically if they hadnt run down inventory they would be in a debt position. So its only because of this the reality is hidden.

In many ways this reminds me of PV Crystalox except the latter had some contracts its customers were willing to pay a high price alot to get out of.Promethean doesnt have that luxury.

I just wonder how these much cheaper whiteboard sticks that HP and others are selling are affecting Promethean and Smart Technologies. The market as a whole may be growing but are these two companies wares going to become obsolete?

Good summary, empirestate!

I guess the key issue is to try and figure out the underlying performance going forward.
