Markets pants. Sellers bring in more sellers. Most PI's sell when share prices are falling not when they are rising.

All a bit frustrating.

Next will come a "V" shaped bounce but whether it is from here or some lower value is anyone's guess.

Thanks for your thoughts Graham, An RNS along the lines you suggest would certainly help!

I think a bit of hand holding would not go amiss.

Why can they not RNS the current loan book ( must be over £300m by now) with a comment on NIM ( which was holding up well at the interims), a comment on impairment ( meant to be getting better, as the quality of loan book improves).

Then a comment on the balance sheet, capital ratios and head room.

There appears to be little volume. But,in the absence of any buyer, a small seller can knock the price.

Market generally rubbish.

Troubles at Metro and other Challenger banks.

Lack of news flow.

Financial stock....

Good grief what is happening to this share! Anyone any clues? Do we have a large holder dribbling shares into the market or is it just lack of interest and people selling to chase profits elsewhere?

Hi all,

A mate of mine recently was kind enough to share some notes he had taken on PCF and I created a 'Guest Blog' out of it on my website. I don't hold PCF myself but I am sure many peeps on the Board will find it useful.

Cheers, WD.

Share price reaction would seem to be a result of 1PM and possibly MCS trading statement yesterday.

I'll deal with MCS first as it shouldn't haven't impacted PCF but sometimes some people mistakenly see a read across. MCS which provide very high rate loans (50%+ a year) say it's getting harder to do new business. Hardly surprising since the government is clamping down in this area. Shouldn't have affected PCF as PCF don't this these types of loans.

Now 1PM. Issue seems to be increase in impairment provision which they call prudent but on the other hand actual writdowns are 1% and in-line with previous year. I guess they say they see something coming down the road or maybe they are just building up the balance sheet whilst they are making decent profits in case something does come down the road.
1PM cost of funds 4%. NIM 12%. so, they are lending at 16%
PCF costs of funds 2.4%. NIM 8% so, they are lending at 10.4% and plan to continue to reduce NIM to focus on customers with prime credit history.

You can see why 1PM might want to increase provision for impairments. Your customer base if you are lending at 16% is not going to have the greatest track record. It's a different busines than PCF and I think the fall in share price by association is unfair. Nothing I can do about it of course except wait for Scott and the team to continue delivering what they've promised and done so far.

Ditto for supplying the 2 videos, certainly reassures me regarding what they are attempting to achieve over the next 3 years, just heaps of patience required i guess. Obviously opm share price action today has not helped sentiment for financials but PCF appear to have all bases covered.

Is this turning up? After those first two sell trades first thing yesterday morning every trade has been a buy and the MM are responding to the flow.

I'm sure there will be some sellers to come as we hit 33,34,35 etc. but I don't mind people selling out as it moves up as that's only natural. What gets on my nerves is those who take a short term position as a punt and then sell out after a week to 10 days at a 10% loss as they move onto the next stock which is going to make them rich (not).

Fingers crossed anyway.

Scott gave confident performance at ShareSoc. The loan book was £276m at 31 March and closer to £290m now. Very soon will be through the £300m mark and the first target of £350m will be within touching distance ( a year early).

Everything seems to be on track and the slides still show a target of £750m loan book and an ROA of 3%. Easy maths gets to c£20m profit. If that can be achieved within 2/3 years then a substantial rerating will happen.

Patience needed
