If you are still a novice, you are probably still watching WTI, which is trading at $52/bbl. The Brent WTI spread is almost at ~$7/bbl, and for those who don't know the implications, please read our Friday OMD.Sentiment, it's a funny little thing. Why is it that sentiment turns bullish when prices are going up, and bearish when prices are going down, instead of the other way around? If it wasn't obvious by now to those who are following the oil markets, weekly US crude production data is massively overstated. EIA even admitted in the latest DPR that July figures were overstated, but you know, there will still be people calling for oil tops along the way to $60 and beyond.

On this occasion, I think its just as likely to be sellers driven by proximity to strong resistance

Think we arent doing bad considering oil is having another afternoon selloff

They are really working hard at making sure this doesn't end the day near 67p

A lot of sells being thrown at it

Once again it must be an uneconomical strategy if it is the hedgies but it could be warrants and hopefully, this time, TD will do what he said and let the market know at month end.

If there haven't been any issued then he should say that as just saying nothing isn't what he said would happen

74.71 in my records - according to the RNS.. and fixed at a very lowly $1.28 giving $0.92 (or potentially 258 MM shares from the $237MM of CB that were renegotiated).

Some nice buys there at 67+...

IIRC, the share price was around 70p when the VWAP pricing mechanism for the CB's was announced (Mar 1st). (At least this is what my records suggest, as I sold a few to buy back in the following week).
But the price had fallen heavily in the week previous to that announcement from 80+, probably as the news had started leaking, and the shorting had started in earnest.
Perhaps we'll see some of these shorts start to be squeezed as we approach these levels again... Certainly hope so.

The Brit POO speculators are very consistent with their 7am sell off of oil. They must be getting it wrong more often than not these days but maybe it is some sort of contractual agreement with the yanks of the UK vampire squid office that the UK office takes the losses?
