12/10/2016 09:06 | scemer - no, of course not. My point was that such variations in weather are a normal part of this company's planning, or should be. Some months are warmer than average, some are colder than average. They don't need to be wizards to know that! Reaching for weather as an excuse is feeble. But convenient of course. | grabster
12/10/2016 08:57 | Grabster when it's warm do you have lots of hearty meals? They are not wizards you know.yes we all want the share price up but this company has come a long way | scemer
12/10/2016 08:53 | So they say. Dare not say otherwise. But watch for a changed view from them in their next update... | grabster
12/10/2016 08:50 | Full year unchanged though? | bonio10000
12/10/2016 08:48 | Clearly the update details did leak yesterday and the day before. Companies who resort to blaming the weather for their poor performance never impress me. Especially as they rarely credit the weather when performance improves (credit for improvements is claimed by the management). We get some kind of weather every day - and we get exceptionally good or bad months of weather every year. A company whose sales are so easily affected by fluctuations in weather should be capable of accepting that and planning accordingly, not reaching for it when excuses are wanted. | grabster
12/10/2016 08:43 | With the weak pound hopefully someone's looking in. Outlook unchanged so not so bad. | isis
12/10/2016 08:25 | McCormick,Nissin or some overseas predator? this should have been done and dusted months ago! | boldtrader
12/10/2016 08:18 | This was obviously known by some yesterday as stated on previous posts.Statement could have been worse and possibly increases the chance of a bid. | geraldus
12/10/2016 08:16 | I put in a limit sale for first thing this morning but nothing like the price it fell to or even is now. Disappointing update that should certainly blow the froth off the recent rise but I can't see the share price being much below 50 at the end of the day. If I had been on the button I would have been buying at 8:06! | puffintickler
12/10/2016 08:13 | Bring in the next offer. | h0me
12/10/2016 07:41 | No change, more promises and no deliveries! | prokartace
12/10/2016 07:37 | Weak pound, strategy not working = takeover, got to come imho.Institutions will not be happy | hippo
12/10/2016 07:32 | Yes agree disappointed with update. Drift Back down to 30-40p trading range imo | seball
12/10/2016 07:19 | Disappointing update! | jordaggy
12/10/2016 07:06 | Somebody new something yesterday. Q2 trading out. | withoutt
11/10/2016 20:41 | Can't see any new shorts since beginning of the year when 3.86pct of shares were short. I don't know what the time lapse is between short position declared and reported? | coolhandfluke
11/10/2016 13:30 | A rise of over 50% since June makes it perfectly understandable that profit takers might bank gains. I wouldn't expect that to knock the price down more than 6-7p. But if serious shorters have spotted or heard summat and are targetting this, their actions could drive it way back down to the mid-thirties without much difficulty. A company whose debt exceeds its market capitalisation is always vulnerable - even without the pension fund problem. | grabster
11/10/2016 12:41 | Not sure why people are concerned about this measured pullback as still bullish chart | red army
11/10/2016 12:36 | Several people have shorted it yesterday afternoon and this morning according to my broker. I don't know any specific reason. Maybe McCormicks have been asked if likely to rebid and indicated they won't be? | grabster
11/10/2016 10:03 | What was that? Quite high volume so far this morning and stock selling off.. | cfro
06/10/2016 18:00 | I opened a new position here today. I was a bit concerned about their high debt levels and massive pension deficit and i wouldn't normally invest in a share with these characteristics as a rule. However, one could argue the positives outway the negatives with some very good points made by Vic_Frost above for starters. On top of that, i agree with many other posters here that there is a high chance of a new bid being made. All speculation i know, and we will have to wait see if anything happens on this front. | cfro
06/10/2016 16:25 | Recent rise is my fault - I sold my modest holding to move the money somewhere else temporarily. | tini5
06/10/2016 16:07 | They've done a good job of reviving some of the other brands like Homepride - 3 new Texan Chilli Sauces which I might even try! | isis
06/10/2016 15:07 | fair comments Vic | prokartace |
