He didn't have any choice in the sale of C&W afaik.

McCormick could have gone straight to shareholders too but didn't.

Is it true many of Darby's options have not vested yet !He was quick to sell his last business and on that occasion the market felt far too cheaply.

blimey that's a bit rich coming from The Times, only 2 weeks ago they were recommending this as a buy at 56p, that's the last tip I take from them

Yes it is very disappointing.

When they said that talks had been constructive I would have bet that a deal was in the offing but there you go.

It's gonna take time to get back up there without a bid. It's a hard slog growing sales in these type of Companies.

I also think that McCormick may have thought the business was too big for them.

Unusual for Broker and Company to be at odds.

CS appear to be punishing Premier for not taking the bid.

Time to change Brokers.

'Cellular3 I am merely stating a fact to someone who said there was limited downside, to make their comment a little more balanced. And to follow up your comment, a stop loss would be virtually useless in such an event, unless it is a guaranteed stop provided by a CFD, Spreadbet firm etc.

FWIW I expect a bid to be agreed/forced through, as does the market given that the price sits much closer to the expected bid value than the pre-bid price.'

On that note I'm so glad I never did a stop loss as I would be down 65%. Oh wait I am down 65% - doh!

Credit Suisse should be sacked.

Yeah, I read the Times article, not really saying anything that has not already been said. Basically heavily critical of the board for not looking at a serious takeover offer that was at a 100% premium to the share price and saying that senior management have a hell of a lot to deliver to justify turning the offer down.

I would have thought Credit Suisse as House Broker would have been consulted on the recent bids.

Seems strange.

From the House Broker too.

Darby has put himself on the spot so has to deliver.

Write up in The Times today which is not very encouraging. Broker downgrade from 70p to 50p. That could explain drop today.

The Australian acquisition was a small one, Mccormick will need to make far bigger acquisition(s) to grow its earnings and I will not be surprised to see them having another go at PFD in the future.

How long will Nissin also sit with 20% of the Company being purchased at 62p? As a minimum I presume they will want a seat on the Board so they can guide the direction of the Company
