Q3 results today certainly stirred things up, with a rise of 9.6% on the day.

That's obviously it. I'm surprised that it takes them so long to cotton on to the value in this (and other) share.

Due to broker upgrade?

Premier Farnell raised to buy from hold at Deutsche.

Sorry no link.

A hefty rise today, on no apparent news. None of the market close E-mails seem to have noticed it.

time alone did tell - maybe now could be the time to get back in for the 190p reiteration BUY, or even a 175p reasonable target ?!

With interim dividend maintained and no bad news, I'd like to think that 175p is a reasonable target price.

The reiterations may have been before the results, but the price action on Friday, combined with the director's share buy, might suggest that they are right. Time alone will tell.

Yes but those reiterations were before the results

02-Sep-09 Seymour Pierce Buy 190p Reiteration
28-Aug-09 Panmure Gordon Buy 190p Reiteration

I'd hope to pick them up at nearer 140p myself... but hey-ho the analysts ought to know best...

Results out today with a maintained dividend, but eps down some.

Consequence the market decides to knock them down by 7%, to about 151p.

Probably a good buying opportunity for a steady income generating share.

GMT [Dow Jones] UBS lifts Premier Farnell (PFL.LN) target to 130p from 120p. Sees a less severe deceleration in momentum in the North American marketing distribution division than at peer Electrocomponents (ECM.LN). Says this is partly because Electrocomponents faces tougher year-on-year comparatives going into April/May, but brokerage also sees MDD correlated with US semiconductors, where the rate of year-on-year decline has stabilized somewhat. However, still thinks US manufacturing activities will suffer severe negative operating leverage and expects distribution operations in the UK and Continental Europe to be pressured. Keeps at neutral. Shares -1.1% at 131.3p. (ANT)

Profit taking and the fact that we still have some time to go before shares go ex dividend.I reckon that in the current climate it really is a matter of 'Do you feel lucky?'

The very fact that the company has maintained its dividend is a good sign in itself and if the share price also rises to 160p, then I'll be a happy man.

Recovering well, buy reiteration from Seymour Pierce, price target reduced from 210 to 160

Results seem to be poorly accepted though I have not read them.
Have not held here since over 200 and looks like could drop below 100

Not long till year end.If we get no bad news before then and the company maintains its dividend then I reckon we will see share price moving upward.

So, financing sorted.

Onwards and upwards?
