24/4/2006 14:11 | thanks mehul500 I wondered if the goal centres were nearby to give competition,if not then you are going to use your local if not any great difference. Think they will both do well with WC coming. | arab3
24/4/2006 13:54 | not much difference between centres in london, apart from some have one or two larger 8-a-side or 10-a-side pitches. business should pick up even more during world cup and summer, i reckon it will hit 100p a share by the start of the new premier league season. | mehul500
24/4/2006 13:26 | does anyone here use the footie centres, is there any difference between them and is there any competition due to locations. Do not have any up here in the far north, wish we had. | arab3

23/4/2006 21:39 | Employers warned over World Cup absences By Times Online "Teleworking" could take on a whole new meaning in June, with employers being encouraged to let staff watch World Cup football matches in the office to avoid an inevitable rash of people taking time off sick. One in seven young men could call in sick to watch a match during the tournament, according to a poll commissioned by workplace issues specialist Croner. Around 13 per cent of men, compared to only 4 per cent of women, among the 2,191 adults polled by YouGov, said they have called in sick to watch a match, or to recover from match-related drinking the night before. The younger generation are the worst offenders with 16 per cent of men and women aged between 18 and 29 admitting to taking unauthorised absence for a major sporting event. But, with many matches due to fall in working hours, employers who provide television access at work could avoid the problem of absences and actually benefit from improved employee relations and boost morale by helping staff enjoy the World Cup. | drbeat

10/4/2006 08:16 | yeah have to admit you may have a point there... am looking into the profitability thing... and haven't visited any sites yet My only other point would be surely it can't be too hard for Powerleague to upgrade sites so that they are doing whatever goals are doing??????? Slapper | slapdash
10/4/2006 07:31 | 1st rule in investing - don't get passionate about your stocks. I hoild both and think this is a gr8 market, but Slap I think you miss a lot of the fundamentals. GOAL made more profit on less than hlaf the sites PWR has in the last year!!! Therefore if GOAL makes much more for each site it has, it's growth potential is similarly multiplied. ps have you ever visited PWR at Tottenham or Halesowen, a visit may change your outlook | cupasoup2006
07/4/2006 17:14 | It was on INVESTORS CHRONICLE ONLINE today.... Small world story.... saying how they publicised their new site in the City... probably explains the rise... Slapper GOAL/POWERLEAGUE COMPARISON Incredible that Goal are worth £100m while Powerleague are worth £70m.. i.e. Goal almost 50% more valuable. But take just 5 minutes to look at both websites.... Powerleague has loads more sites, has a better website and has, I believe, a better balance sheet.... forward rating for next year for Powerleague only about 16 times..... for Goal it is 30.5 times.... Growth is all very well but Goal is coming from a lower base so it is easier to have a higher earnings growth rate... | slapdash
07/4/2006 15:23 | yeah I think although it is short term it could be a huge money spinner.. world cup and all that and some very rich office workers next door.... People simply won't care what they pay.... Also shows company is being innovative and pushing forward the search for new sites.... may get other positive surprises going forward.... Slapper | slapdash
